Major management involvement needed to compete with good LA hotels. Will not go there again.
Liked: Bed comfort; staff; shuttle.
Disliked: Room size; handicapped aids; menus; lack of real restaurant; value.

Although I thought this hotel was beautiful and the staff was friendly, for what I paid I could have gotten much more somewhere else. I thought it was pretty tacky that they charge for overnight parking, it's not like you are going to park for only a few hours. $32 is too much to park when your room is already upwards of $300 for a standard room. Also my pet peeve - one packet of sugar and one creamer might look nice and appointed in the coffee caddy in the room, but not very realistic. Also, if you are sharing a room with someone, make sure to bring your own toiletries, because there will not be enough shampoo for 2 people. But then again, aesthetics are an important part of the illusion of luxury. The rooftop garden was beautiful and peaceful. Location was perfect. Overall good experience but a bit pricey for what is offered, but then again that's LA for ya.
Liked: Clean room.
Disliked: Parking.

Service is awesome as expect...
Liked: Location is great for the area. Right next to Little Tokyo. There are heaps of people and niche shops.Staff are very friendly and helpful. My electric shaver died and I desperately need a shaver, reception gave me complimentary disposable shaver and shaving cream. it's these extra attention to their customer's needs that made the Embassy my recommended hotel. The Kyoto garden is beautiful and is a bonus for staying here.
Disliked: There is not enough to do within walking distant. Once you experience Little Tokyo which is the most lively area in the district, there is not much else to explore unless you have a car or spend a lot of money on Uber to take you around. This has more to do with the location and not the hotel.

Liked: The bed was very comfortable. Complimentary coffee and tea in the room. Hotel personnel was nice.
Disliked: I did not believe it when I read that the area was unsafe (as I am from Latin America), but I truly felt insecure. Lots of homeless screaming and acting violently. We were followed by two. Very sad :(. As for the hotel, it is very old, the shower curtain had a weird stain, the painting of the bath tub was cracking. The room windows were all filthy. Smelled like cigars, probably because of the old carpets.
