Superb

Glad I only stayed one...

Liked: The staff were friendly and welcoming. They offered a complimentary upgrade to a room with a water view which I appreciated. They gave us some cookies on arrival which were delicious. The hotel seemed pretty clean.
Disliked: The room size wasn't great, I expected a bit more space, the bed was small and quite uncomfortable as were the pillows. The duvet was thin and felt cheap. There was a brown stain on the carpet. There was no information book or anything in the room, I checked all drawers. There was a fly in my room on arrival. I caught it after running around after it for some time. By the morning time there was another fly in my room, windows and doors remained shut so I did wonder where on earth they were coming from. The bathroom was very outdated, a hotel of this standard should have a walk in shower and not an old bath tub with some old shower in it, the rubber bath mat reminded me of the 90s and looked like it had been there since then too. The toilet seat should of been soft closing but wasn't. The toilet roll holder was awkwardly situated and it made it difficult to unravel the toilet paper when sitting on the toilet. There should of been an option for softer lighting in the bathroom but there wasn't, it was full on bright lights or nothing. Oh almost forgot. To top it off, i had to pay £15 for parking. Its £15 per day, this I think is bonkers. I wouldn't stay here again.

Disappointing

Good stay, could be improved.

Liked: Staff were attentive at breakfast and quick to clear dirty plates away. Considering this is on the main flight path to London Central Airport, as well as the DLR line, the establishment did a great job at soundproofing the building.
Disliked: The decor wasn't to the standard I would usually expect for a Hilton/Doubletree.. the wallpaper was coming away at one corner of the room, there were bleach stains on the chair and the vinyl was coming off the under-unit shelf in the bathroom. Small fixes that would just enhance the overall feel of the stay for the price point charged.
