It was a nice stay...

Liked: Very convenient location.EXCEPTIONALLY nice check in clerk.I liked the text message from front desk asking if we needed anything, we didn't use it, but nice.
Disliked: The "air freshener" system is enough to have me try another hotel. I know this is a universal thing, the freshener seems to be a part of the whole system and therefore unavoidable, unlike asking for allergen free bedding or something like that. It is not unique to doubletree or hilton, but for the increasing number of people who are sensitive to these things it is really really difficult. Is it possible to move towards air cleaners (air doctor type things) over adding these noxious scents into the system????

Disliked: Lighting in room and bathroom inadequate.

Liked: Thought the hotel was very clean. The room was very nice and bed was comfortable. The food was really good too.
Disliked: Our room was located right next to the stairs and ice machine. Woke up a few times to the noise.

Liked: The proximity to food options and JMU was wonderful.
Disliked: The elevator could use some updating, both in function and style. It would also help if it was cleaned more routinely, as it was quite filthy when I returned to the hotel Friday evening and discovered that it had still not been cleaned Saturday morning. The shower in my room was also not as clean as I would have preferred on first pass, but I was able to rectify it myself.The did not like the rear entrance door had holes where locks were likely present. It did require the use of a room key to unlock it, but the appearance was tacky nonetheless.
