Just wish to say that my wife and I were looking forward to this night out at this venue. But when we checked in all things changed - we couldn't check in until late - 7pm. Because we paid by cash they wanted a £50 deposit just in case we broke anthing in the room - good job I had it on me. We went to our room that we booked at a special rate because of the poker tournament - OMG!, box room; bed on the floor - had to lower yourself down to get on it and a 14 inch TV in the room; one very small wardrobe and an ensuite shower and basin that you banged your arms off every time you moved in it. And to top it off, we went for breakfast and the staff ignored us. The kitchen staff said we hadn't paid for breakfast in that room, even though I asked for breakfast when I booked it. We went straight upstairs and packed and checked out. Never had any of this trouble at Stoke at the Quality hotel and got a superb breakfast there at the same price I paid for this dog kennel. Bad experience. Please Nuts Poker, go back to Stoke.

Not quite up to standard.
Liked: Good room size and wardrobes.
Disliked: The aircon/heating system was broken, the tv also needed tuning upon my arrival. It was a long walk with a lot of heavy bags to get to my room and being a mezzanine meant extra stairs but I know that was just luck what room I ended up with. The carper was pretty dirty, glitter and stains and even some scraps of old plastic or something. Would have expected better for the price. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful.

Nice room. Bed hard. Heating...
Liked: I liked the design of the rooms. The breakfast had a fair amount of variety. It felt safe.
Disliked: It was complicated to get to our room, with lots of luggage it was difficult over long distances of corridors and key access doors everywhere. Our room was very cold and the heating didnt seem to work and the hair drier was also broken. We attended an event next door and retired to the restaurant in the evening. Although the staff were friendly and helpful when things were busy, the kitchen were totally underprepared for the number of people attending that evening and so removed the full menu 1/3 of the way into the evening. With no other eating places easily accessible by foot, this meant there were only a handful of fast food options available which were really less than ideal and not appetising. I would have like to have seen a few more salads/vegetable options.

Kim rrally made us feel welcome. Breakfast was excellent for the price - plenty of choice between hot & cold, pastries & porridge. Savoury & Sweet, Healthy & a holiday treat.
