Liked: The facilties are to a good standard, spa area is clean and well maintained, breakfast options are good and cooked well, staff are friendly.
Disliked: We had been to this hotel on previous occasions and had never paid extra to use the spa, bearing in mind a basic room with breakfast is around 200.00 you would assume you could use the spa facilities without extra charge, we were only informed of this upon check out, at no point during check in or when we arrived at the spa were we told there is now a extra charge, im sure it is in the smallprint somewhere but having stayed there previous we didn't check, the steam room was not working and we were not informed of this prior to using the spa, there were 7 ladies sitting in the jacuzzi for 45 mins allowing no more space for other guests, the spa staff should manage this better to avoid conflict with guests, the matress was very soft and uncomfortable and the carpet made a weird crunchy sound when walking on it, you have to ask for robes and slippers as these are not supplied anymore, for these reasons we will not be returning to donnington valley spa hotel, which is unfortunate as we usually enjoy our time there.

Nice weekend away

Liked: Very friendly staff. Very clean facilities
Disliked: The dinner could have been better. My steak was not particularly good.Check out on a Sunday should be later. 11 ist to early. And breakfast should be later as well. The spa should stay open at least until 21 o’clock

Ideally-placed hotel in its own...

Liked: Very good location near major roads but in its own grounds so relatively peaceful
Disliked: Some staff interactions were less than ideal, eg effectively being told off for wanting to pay by phone rather than with a physical card. Rooms could do with some investment and TLC. We were also told we’d have to pay £20 to use the gym or pool despite already having paid £199 for the room (without breakfast).

Not worth £200 a night

Disliked: Air con not working in room , extractor fan not working in bathroom the vent had cobwebs covered in dust hanging out falling into shower area

Liked: Well located, old style building but well maintained, friendly staff and great facilities
Disliked: Nothing
