A wonderful experience in the...
Liked: Everything! Gilles and Annie are very lovely people—we felt like we gained two new friends. Gilles is a very talented chef who cooks simple but very satisfying meals, where every detail is attended to—a true gourmand. We had two very delicious dinners there. And, the wine list at the Domaine is quite extensive and surprising. Although it was a chilly and somewhat damp December, we walked some near the house, but it’s easy to see that in nicer weather there is much to explore in the surrounding countryside. The Domaine is filled with the beautiful artwork of Gilles’s father and grandfather, and Annie’s curatorial skills are well represented throughout the home, which is filled with lovely pottery, dishes, and objets. There’s a lot to look at! This is one of the best places we have stayed and certainly the highlight of our visit to France. We cannot recommend the Domaine de Labrousse highly enough!
Disliked: Nothing. Except the weather

A little corner of paradise...
Liked: I had a wonderful stay at the Domaine de Labrousse. Annie and Gilles are amazing hosts and they make sure you spend the most lovely time while staying with them. Their maison d’hôtes is filled with art, located in a very quiet location, there’s a nice pool, and you’ll be served the most delicious food and wine in the garden. It’s worth the detour if you’re in the region.

Characterful country mansion in Perigord.
Liked: The location is beautiful, very secluded but easily accessible by car (any sedan). The accommodation is surrounded by fields and trees, absolute peace! The swimming pool is clean, relaxing and great during a hot summer day. The rooms are cosy and very characterful. One suggestion: temperature are getting hotter by the year, maybe a ceiling fan would help without spoiling the character a concept of the rooms.Breakfast and dinners (we stayed twice for dinner) are delicious, healthy and prepared/presented with passion by Jill and Anne. They also know Périgord so well and can give plenty of tips and advices.
Disliked: Nothing. We didn’t realized that the place was so remote, but actually this turned up to be a big plus!

Highly recommendable retreat from the...
Liked: An unexpected jewel amidst nature. Very personally run by the owners who make you part of the family. Giles is a superb cook offering exquisite dinners. An old very thoughtfully renovated farm house that offers retreat and relaxation at the highest standard. The wine and beverage selection is outstanding and you can also buy wine at reasonable prices. Annie and Gilles understand their business and are special warm people.

A truly memorable experience
Liked: The most peaceful place to stay. We loved every moment of our time here. Giles and Annie were both incredibly welcoming hosts and ensured we had a great time. The highlight has to be Giles' cooking. Having an evening meal cooked by an ex-restauranteur is unique at places like this we've stayed at. Breakfast was really good too, with eggs straight from the chicken coop and everything homemade. If you're in any doubt about where to book in Dordogne, stop - just stay here!
