Reception staff were very friendly. Room was clean and spacious but the stay was spoilt as in the room above was a very rowdy group who thought it was fun to jump on the bed and run around the room shouting and screaming! We tried to ring reception but the phone didn't work so we went and asked them to go and have a word! It did calm down for a while but they continued to make a noise until at least 4am so we had very little sleep!

Budget hotel; BUT... room large; clean all through the hotel; good security; very helpful staff - interested in our stay. Only one fault - only one pillow per bed, and no spares, but then these may have been available had we asked. We would, and have, recommended this hotel.

The hotel was spotlessly clean - stairs and reception. Room was great - only one loose hinge on the bathroom door. Breakfast room was great - clean and good buffet food, just needed a little incidental music to give a little more atmosphere.

Disliked: Not an ideal location for families. Fine if you're planning a night out with friends but beer barrels being thrown out the neighbouring pub and other guests loudly returning from nights out don't allow for a great deal of sleep

Liked: It is convenient for the railway station. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It is also very clean. We were able to drop our cases off early before check-in and also leave them after check -out for a very small fee which was a real bonus
Disliked: It is a bit all over the place as it is an old building. The lift only took a couple of people so at check-out time it was a bit of a struggle to get in the lift . There was no heating in the bathroom

So close to all amenities....

Liked: Overnight stay, we had room 711 we found it cold and noise from outside loud but saying that it was very clean shower good,beds comfortable receptionist lovely, continental breakfast good too, train station just over the road but with road works had to walk round not bad really, would stay again but in warmer room,
