Liked: Good location
Disliked: rooms are half the size expected for the price, especially the bathrooms. Over priced for a badly dated facility.

We enjoyed the resort and...

Liked: The hotel lobby was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed a delicious dinner in the main restaurant. We found the staff to be very welcoming and friendly.
Disliked: The king room we stayed in was very small, including the bathroom. The room does not have a fridge or microwave. The first thing you notice when you enter the room is the comforter on the bed which was worn out with very noticeable lumps inside the comforter. Also, it was difficult to view the TV from bed because of such tight quarters.

Sorry to say I would...

Liked: Beautiful view, interesting building.
Disliked: Building is old and so obviously in need of much work. Couldn't get in to the room due to key issues - comedy of errors. I don't want to go in to details as the staff were trying their hardest and I wouldn't want anyone to get in trouble.Room 315 is very noisy with the elevator - why were we in there if the hotel was mostly empty?? These rooms should not be used, or the elevator needs to be fixed/replaced. Had a feeling like we were in the hotel in the movie “the Shining”.Shower/bath tiles grotty. Brown water gushed out of the bath tap on first use (Not used in a long time?)My supper was not great. Haddock was a little rubbery, although veggies were very good. Another meal was just OK. Scallops were fresh though. My breakfast (egg/bacon/fries) was dry and not at all appetizing. Other breakfast was OK. Pancake breakfast pretty good.Felt like not enough staff, esp. in restaurant. Felt like it should have really been closed for the winter. Sorry to say I would never go back. Nothing against the staff who I feel a bit sorry for. I'll even extend my compassion to the owners - it literally requires 10s of millions of dollars of work, and if managed correctly wouldn't be profitable for many years. There really is no alternative for this place though unless some cottages were to be sold off or something. Previous time we were in Digby we stayed at a B&B in town, and with breakfast included it was literally half the price, and much more pleasant.

It was ok

Liked: Beautiful building... lovely location. Friendly staff. Found a used facecloth in the shower..which is no big thing... but the restaurant was awful. High priced dining that was horribly cooked... old seafood. Haddock was strong tasking... scallops were small and so overcooked you could not hardly chew them... breakfast was a disaster.. went in dining room at 7:45.. I had coffee only... took until 8:45 to get a fill up of the second cup. Mom tried to have eggs they finally arrived at 9:45 but unfortunately we had to leave as we had a 10:00 appointment. There were 3 other tables in the room. Two had a couple at each and the other had 4. We were almost 2 hours waiting for warm watery coffee and two fried eggs that came too late to eat. So much work needs to happen in the dining room.
Disliked: Dining
