3 rooms for two nights...

Liked: The architecture is stunning, great staff, great location, the manager did the right thing after my first nightmarish night and I was upgraded.... one bad night... one good night.
Disliked: One week before my arrival, I upgraded my room to a bigger room with a balcony. When I checked in I got a small room with no balcony. After showing my Booking.com receipt I was "downgraded" to probably the worst room of the hotel with a balcony; beside the elevator, above the car entrance with a balcony door that does not lock - real security issue. after a sleepless night, I complaint and I was move to a stunning corner suite with it own balcony.I like it simple... but 3 rooms for two nights is too much drama even if the hotel is an architecture marvel.

Liked: Had a very bad experience at check-in. Arrived at around 2:30- 2:40 Pm. Process was normal (although the least cordial possible - very surprising for Guadalajara) except a curious handling of a deposit for charges (why not simply ask straithforwardly for CC as in any hotel and that´s it?). We were told to wait for the room. After a while (10-15 mns) I asked what was the matter. All checking papers and keys were lined up in a desk behind the corner. I deduced all was ready but the answer was that they had to wait for the authorization on the final inspection of the room!!!!!!! Had to wait a while more. I exploded because the same answer came back and the manager was "busy". The young man disappeared. A young woman showed up to replace him. Obviously she had been informed.... Nothing happened and I had to bang on the counter to get some attention. We got our room maybe at 3:15. It is clear to me that someone had given instructions not to give the room before the 3:00 check in time.With the image, glamour etc of Demetria I was not expecting this unbelievable service!! I finally managed to see the manager on the way out, a very nice and helping young woman who said she was going to look into it and get back to me. During our discussion the young man was present and did not open his mouth. To date, I haven´t heard from them......
