Clean and spacious, but unpleasant...

Liked: - Spacious room- Clean throughout- Friendly and helpful staff, including on reception and in the restaurant- Secure parking underground and open car park option behind hotel- Walking distance to shops and restaurants
Disliked: When we first entered the room, there was a unpleasant smell (sewege) which lingered around the bathroom and entrance. The bathroom and bedroom were clean, but the smell was off putting, we spoke to reception and two members of staff went to investigate. They confirmed they could also smell this and suggested a room spray, my husband asked for an alternative room, however they apologised and said as they were busy, there were no rooms available. My husband asked if there was anything else they could do and they offered us a voucher to cover our breakfast as an apology and room spray. This was acceptable given they were busy, however it was frustrating we had to ask what they could do, rather than them making a suggestion.
