Liked: Beautifully Maintained house and property with a private outdoor area to enjoy. The mansion itself was impeccable and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was ample and delicious. Guest access to kitchen was especially nice.
Disliked: We wish there had been a working fireplace in the living room for chillier days.

Liked: The owner, Paul, and the Housekeeper, Tracey, are lovely and generous with their time and knowledge of the house and the area. They were also very understanding in regard to our much delayed arrival time and they both insisted that we were not inconveniencing them (although I think we must have!) The star attraction is the house itself, which has been exquisitely restored to its historical grandeur and is steadfastly maintained so that it can operate as a fairly busy Bread & Breakfast. If it hadn't been so hot and muggy, we likely would have made use of some of the spaces downstairs that encourage one to sit down and read a book or have a discussion with a friend.
Disliked: Breakfast was not as exceptional as we expected based on earlier reviews. There were freshly scrambled eggs, but no fresh baked goods, and instead supermarket sliced bread. The same muffins and bagels were on offer during our three days there. There was also a large display of fruit that had attracted flies (it was very hot when we visited). However there were fresh berries and a terrific assortment of jams. When I told Tracey that we were vegetarian, she went above and beyond and whisked the bacon out of sight lest we feel disturbed. Also, be aware: our room was described as having a private bathroom, but -- in contrast to the other bedrooms--the bathroom was not en suite. It would have been nice to know what to expect.
