Disappointing

Liked: Nothing really struck me as a well run hotel.
Disliked: Lack of staff. No atmosphere in breakfast room. No one appeared to be enjoying their stay. Would not be returning at any time.

Never again!

Disliked: Poor check in. Awful food in the bar. Very poor service.waited at the bar for 15 minutes. No staff anywhere? Freezing bedroom. A heater arrived on day 2.

Amazing tranquil location within easy...

Liked: The view down the Chess valley is absolutely stunning. Drinks on the terrace are a must on a sunny day. The bar is atmospheric and cosy in the evening. Great base for walking/cycling. Interesting history. Free coffee machine in reception if you run out of supplies in your room.
Disliked: The food (We tried restaurant and bar) was fine in quality but limited and predictable choices. The pool was functional and a bit dated.
