Liked: The scenery is stunning, the staff were very pleasant and welcoming and the atmosphere is lovely. I would recommend De Vere Horsley estate to anyone who would like a quiet, countryesk break. I will certainly be returning in the future.

Liked: Second room was better
Disliked: Room 60 which we were put in was extremely poor, carpets stained, shower in poor condition, carpet near bed was either mouldy or something had been spilled on it and not cleaned, walls covered in stains near bed, room clearly needs upgrading. Also we arrived late as our flight was delayed, but we had contacted the hotel in advance and asked about the bar, or drinks left in room, I was told that they didn't offer this service and the bar closed at 12, we arrived just after 11, bar was closed??? Reception member of staff was not really interested when we asked for some drinks. Clearly communication needs improving, possibly the poorest room I have been put into. I did speak to reception and we were put into another room at the far end of the hotel which was apparently the same type of room and the two could not have been as they were worlds apart. Swimming pool also closed till June 25, again didn't know that at time if booking which was months ago, overall thou for the location and the rest of the hotel it was very disappointing.

Liked: Staff were really welcoming and helpful. They were very busy with a conference but still made sure the stay was enjoyable.
Disliked: Very slow wait at the bar to order lunch.I had to go and find someone.

Beautiful stay at De Vere...

Liked: We liked our stay a lot - the estate is truly beautiful and the buildings stunning. The reception staff were friendly, checking in was straightforward, our room was clean and comfortable. It was not large, but I knew this in advance. I really liked the coffee / tea stations dotted around the venue. We absolutely enjoyed walking on the estate and in the area. There are quant shops, pubs and restaurants close by.
Disliked: N/a

Liked: Good price, comfortable room , nice surroundings, Room only . Pool out of service temporarily. I have stayed there in the past but didn't use the very good food facilities.
Disliked: No pool and no service in the older part of the hotel.

Excellent value for the price...

Liked: fantastic estate with enjoyable walks, Buffet evening meal was excellent value, breakfast buffet good, plenty of coffee, tea & fresh fruit available during the day & evening.
Disliked: Rooms are on the small size more aimed at business than leisure, wine is expensive.
