Unfortunately another unfortunate stay

Liked: I’m very comfortable with the location and the property itself due to having to spend a lot of night here over the last two years
Disliked: When I checked in, I was placed in a room that had not been cleaned, the bed was still a mess, dirty towels on all over, I took pictures and immediately went to the front desk, where it was treated as if nothing was wrong as if it needed to be brushed off as an “ oh well “ I was however moved to a new room but I booked a king mattress and was down sized not only on the mattress but just shrugged off that fact I was originally placed in a dirty room! This is not the first time something like this has happened. I wasn’t even ask or had anything done about the troubles. Smh it’s upsetting because sometimes ppl like me rely on this place and to be shrugged off due to their staffing not completely their duties as if it’s normal and acceptable as well as it is absolutely disgusting to put anyone in a dirty room is flabbergasting to me.

Disliked: There was a cockroach in our room and there was no breakfast even tho when booking I checked breakfast

Liked: The location was convenient for my travel purposes.
Disliked: The hotel was in significant disrepair under construction and in deplorable condition both inside and out. There were signs posted by the City of Warren Department of Health which read “closed by the department of health” dated 8/15/2024. There was no complimentary breakfast as offered. There were piles of dirty linens, and piles of lamps in the hallways. The elevators were filthy with a chemical smell. The doors did not open automatically, requiring me to press the door open button to exit. The rear entry doors did not require key card access allowing anyone to enter without restriction. This is a serious security risk for guests staying alone or arriving late at night. The sidewalks and parking lot were covered with snow and ice with no evidence of shoveling or salt.this made navigating with luggage extremely difficult and dangerous. The experience I had was completely unacceptable and fell far below standards expected from a reputable hotel chain. The health and safety violations, lack of security, unsanitary conditions,and dangerous exterior made a deplorable stay.

Low expectations and not surprised.

Liked: They booked me into one of the recently renovated rooms. Comfortable bed.
Disliked: I was prepared to give this property a good review because the room was recently renovated. I knew the atrium, pool and restaurant area of this 40+ year old property would also be under renovation from reading previous reviews. This used to be the place to stay in Warren many years ago when there were numerous businesses (Sylvania, Loranger's, Blair, etc.) and folks would travel for business. All of these businesses are gone or a shadow of what they were. Of the businesses still there (Northwest, Whirley and United Refining), I'd guess most folks traveling in are staying at the Hampton Inn in North Warren. Good luck to the new owners of the old Holiday Inn/Days Inn. I just don't see how any investment made to the property to bring it back to its former glory are going to see an ROI. So, the bad. No cups in the room, not even a single plastic cup. No coffee maker? The final touch was the delicious breakfast I was looking forward to. Upon walking down to the lobby and breakfast area there was a sign announcing that the Warren Department of Health had shut them down. Not even a plastic wrapped danish. Nothing. Add to that the unrelated fact that the old Perkins across the street is shut down, so no breakfast there either. Again, good luck to the new owner. You're going to need it.

Disliked: I wish they have cleared the snow so that was a bit annoying dealing with walking from the vehicle to the room and back.

Disliked: Door key card was not working, elevators were not functioning correctly

Disliked: No pool no bar no pool tables no breakfast. This is what came with this hotel and they had none of it. Smelled like Marijuana every day annoyed I told my kids to pack for the pool and it was closed we slept there that's all. Cost us more money to find more things for my kids to do.. the lights in the rooms had cob webs in them. I dusted them myself. Will not stay here again. We were visiting for a funeral. Should have had what was in the ad but like I said they had nothing.

Liked: Staff was friendly, room itself was clean.
Disliked: No phone in room. Pool was closed and breakfast was not served the entire stay. There was no mention of this on their website when booking. The hotel itself was dirty, trash and furniture thrown out on the lawn and in the hallways.
