Daniel, Imperial, visiting The Magnolia El Cajon Tue, 6 December 2022

When I arrived the lobby was closed. I had to wait more than 20 minutes to open. The receptionist had a rude attitude. If I had a question she ignored me and told me to wait.

Liked: Horrible.
Disliked: Yes.

Convienient for location, poor for...

Liked: I really loved the location. It was in a great area with plenty of convenient options nearby. Having a Denny's open 24/7 was a big plus, and the Starbucks and gas station made mornings much easier. The accessibility of these amenities added a lot of convenience to my stay.
Disliked: The most frustrating part of my stay was the hot water situation. I had to go to the front desk three separate times to inquire about it. Despite running the shower—just a short distance from the front desk—for 15–20 minutes, the water remained ice-cold. Later, when my daughter visited, we used the jacuzzi and returned to the room, where she hoped to rinse off. Unfortunately, she had to stand there shivering for another 15–20 minutes, waiting for the water to warm up.When I addressed this issue with the front desk, they told me they would "do me a favor and turn on the water heater." That response felt dismissive, and I found it concerning that guests aren’t informed that they need to request hot water. Water heaters don’t operate that way, and if there’s a known issue, guests should be made aware in advance.Beyond that, the bed was uncomfortable—very springy and not supportive. Additionally, the bedside lights had mismatched bulbs, casting two different tones of light, which affected my vision at night.Overall, these issues significantly impacted my experience. I hope the hotel addresses them to improve future stays for guests.

The worst place I’ve ever...

Liked: The room was filthy. The floor was so dirty that our feet were black when we walked across them. I had a pair of socks on white socks, and they were absolutely black after walking across the floor. It was very noisy because of the people above us. I asked the lady at the desk to call him and ask him to be quiet. She said she tried, but they didn’t answer, but I think that was a lie because I went up and the lady was very nice and said oh OK I’ll keep them. I’ll keep them quiet and she did for a little while. Then her husband came home and he started dragging furniture around and dropping it on the floor and doing all kinds of things to irritate us by that time everybody at the desk was gone there was nobody to tell so. We had to just use earplugs and it’s in a sleazy area that is full of homeless and lowlife and and it was just a miserable miserable night so we checked out the next morning and they were supposed to give us our refund or at least that the credit us with the next three days that we were going to stay there and they haven’t done either one so I will be putting a stop payment on our charge on our charge card and I will be contacting Wyndham to let them know what this hotel was like. This was just really really bad. I would not advise anybody to stay there Plus we found a cockroach when we left and the owner the woman that’s the owner is Middle Eastern and she was very rude.
Disliked: Everything!

Customer service is the worst...

Liked: Location
Disliked: No one was at check out when I left to check out. I waited 10 minutes and could not wait any longer due to needing to get to work. I was charged a security deposit that was supposed to be released and it was not released per my bank. I called them to follow up and the clerk on 1/15/24 at 6:08 pm was so disrespectful, short, and rude and refused to help me. She said call back another time. I am calling around my work schedule and want to know if my deposit was released. She hung up on me. I called back and she kept picking up and hanging up. This is ridiculous I left a clean room and have no reason my deposit should not come back and or be able to get answers. She refused to give me a manger or corporate number as well. I will NEVER go back with that service.
