My sister and I went to Clearwater to visit our brother, and this hotel was the closest to his apartment. When I booked, I tried phoning the hotel directly, but was told they "do not give rates out over the phone," and "it would be CHEAPER for us to book directly with Priceline or another such service." We booked our reservation on Oct. 5 (for an Oct. 18th arrival) at $91 per night -- which had to be paid in FULL at the time of booking. The day we got there, the rate was now just $67 per night if memory serves me correctly, but no refund could be obtained because I had had to PREPAY the discount service to obtain the reservation at all, and they do not refund overpayments. The staff were extremely pleasant and kind (the one BRIGHT SPOT to the entire stay), but I would never stay there again.
Disliked: Room smelled "musty". The carpet was so dirty that after walking on it, the bottoms of our feet were literally brown (we guess that the carpet has not been steam cleaned in months, if not years). There are NO towel racks in the room (and only about 5 hangers that are attached to a shelf), and nowhere to hang a nightgown or towel during a shower. Had to put our clothing on top of the closed toilet while showering. The sink area is wide open to the entire room (i.e. not separated by a wall or door). I traveled with my sister, but when washing up in the morning, both of us were fully visible to the other person in the room while undressed.

The hotel claimed that they didn't know of our reservation until that morning that we arrived on March 17 and yet we made the reservation on 2/16/19 so they couldn't give us a king size bed. The lady at the desk actually looked us right in the eye and said "but we've upgraded you to 2 queen sized beds." How the heck is that an upgrade? They made no attempt to try to fix the situation during the entire week that we stayed there. I can't recommend this hotel on this basis and will never stay there again for Phillies spring training.
Liked: It was clean and well kept. Pool was nice and hot tub nice too.
Disliked: Well the bad was that we made reservations on Feb. 16 for a March 17 week stay and the hotel claimed that they only got our reservation that morning so they couldn't give us a king size bed but upgraded up to 2 queen size beds. How the hell is that an upgrade? No attempt at all during the week's stay did they try to get us a king size bed. So, no good review from us and we will never stay there again and never recommend it to our all Phillies' friends.

The only thing that happened was that we had a water leak in the bathroom coming through the wall from another room - we could hear the water running. As soon as they finished showering the leaking stopped. The staff was quick to bring us a bunch of towels. They offered to move us to a new room but we decided to stay in that room since it was just for one night. It was fine, they said they'll get someone to repair it. The breakfast is breads, cereals, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, waffles. Some hard boiled eggs would be nice. Conveniently located near the concert venue, variety of restaurants and Clearwater Beach. Overall, it was a fine experience.
Liked: The staff were very friendly, helpful, responsive and the room was clean and comfortable; it was a quiet one night stay. Conveniently located near the concert venue, variety of restaurants and Clearwater Beach.
Disliked: It's an older hotel but clean.

It was a comfortable and...
Liked: I stayed here as I had to evacuate due to the Milton hurricane. Room was clean and bed extremely comfortable. Housekeeping was very responsive to my needs. Property needs to be renovated. Not worth the per night rate as it is an older property with limited amenities. I stayed for a total of 4 nights..Breakfast prior to the hurricane was fine, bit not much afterwards due to the power outage.
Disliked: Not much due to the hurricane. There was power outage for 3 out of the 4 nights. I was surprised that they did not have a generator so that electricity would have been available for food preparation, etc.

probably won't stay again
Liked: staff was friendly and nice. location was good.
Disliked: carpet was wet and gooey, gross like the ac was leaking inside the room. the toilet had to be plunged every time it was used. $120 for one night was a little much also.
