Not the most pleasant stay.

Liked: The rates were cheaper than other hotels in the area.
Disliked: This hotel has questionable business practices. It refused to issue me a receipt for my stay, which I believe is illegal in the state of New York. I stayed overnight and checked out early at 6 am. It took forever for the receptionist to me issue me a form, which I mistook for my receipt in my haste to get to work. Then I got an email for online checkout, hours after I had physically checked out of the hotel. Later, in the evening, I called several times to make sure that I had already been checked out of their system and that I was not to be billed another day in their hotel. I also requested for a copy of my receipt to be sent to my email, and requested that my deposit be returned to me. I had to call several times and I spoke to different people, because they kept sending me a copy of a folio instead of an official receipt or invoice. They kept insisting that the folio is a receipt but it is not. It is only a list of charges incurred during my stay. They also kept transferring me to another department offering timeshare promotions after each call.As for the hotel itself, the place seemed sketchy. Went out to buy food, came back to a swarm of police cars by the hotel entrance and several police officers in the hallway. The hotel is outdated and needs major renovations. Fixtures like the shower rod, closet bar and door stopper had been replaced but there were holes in the walls from where prior fixtures were in place. Furnitures and wallpapers are old. The carpet is old and dirty and needs to be replaced or deep cleaned. Avoid waking barefoot. There is no iron nor ironing board. The hair dryer is yellowed and an old model, was unable to check if working. Thankfully, the bedsheets were clean and so was the bathroom. Cable TV, hot shower and refrigerator were working. It got really cold in the winter night but I couldn’t find the thermostat. As for breakfast, cold tiny muffins, cereal and yogurt were available in the dingy breakfast room.
