Perfection for us.

Liked: Although there was a lot of surrounding offices, the hotel is 10 minute walk to park and ride bus and the train station into Reading town centre and excellent shopping centre. Easy journeys. Within a another 10 minute walk in opposite direction and between the offices there is also a nature park. Opposite the hotel is a whSmiths for snacks and newspapers but this isn't open at weekends. Use the hotel QR code on the restaurant table and you get free access to online newspapers and magazines -brilliant
Disliked: Can't fault the hotel or facilities.

Liked: The hotel was in excellent condition, and the staff were friendly and welcoming.
Disliked: The TV was not working, and the water was not hot enough.

Frustrating due to the spa...

Liked: The room was comfortable.
Disliked: Location: nothing really in the area (but I knew that)Reception staff were lovely - however I booked this hotel due to the spa and the spa staff actually stressed me out so much I cancelled the booking!I booked a treatment - it took 4 phone calls! After the all the phone calls I was asked to go down and pay - I explained that I was in bed (she knew that after phone call 2) so I said I’d pay in the morning. The lady was hesitant, so I suggested cancelling, but then she said ok, pay an hour before the treatment. The next day, I went to pay 1hr and 15mins before the treatment just to be told that they needed 1hr 30mins warning for the therapist to come so I could only have a 30min treatment!! By this time, I was stressed/frustrated so I cancelled and went into town for a treatment!! Not happy as the spa is why I chose the hotel!

Excellent value

Liked: Easy access off motorway. Good onsite parking. Room service. Comfortable room.
Disliked: We could not turn off the ambient lighting in the bathroom so with a glass door, it made the room too bright.

Horrible

Liked: The hotel provide free parking and quite clean.
Disliked: I got to the hotel around 8pm on Monday night. Usually with 4* hotel I do expect the hotel will provides essential needs specially toothbrush. However, I ask for it with the receptionist then I send me to housekeeping department and been told that they are run out of toothbrush. At this point, it is already ridiculous, I also been told call them back in the morning which I did and I got the same answer that they do not have toothbrush and just hang up the phone like I am begging for the toothbrush. I also told the receptionist that I was not happy with how they were handle the issue but guess what I got only one single word from him “ sorry “. As a trained hospitality worker, I found this is lack of respect and professional. If you can nog trained your staffs, theb you should quit your job. The job is not for you.
