Liked: Very well kept hotel all looks pretty new. Gym was big with lots of running machines and weights there no one in it when I visited. Spent lots of time in a conference room which has a great view over the lake.

Constantly harassed for money.

Liked: Despite selecting an option to "pay at property. The hotel called us when we were on our way to demand full payment. They then requested upon arrival a £75 deposit for charges to the room. This is fine, so we got dinner at the hotel (more on the restaurant later). We also got some drinks at the bar which meant we exceeded the £75. In itself fine but over night they attempted to, without authorisation, take money from my account which was not present (we intended to pay using an alternative account). They then called the room pre-9am to request payment on a Sunday. When I explained to them I would pay from a different account they said someone would come to my room to take payment immediately (whilst we were getting ready to leave).We went to reception and paid then left. Quite an awful financial harassment experience.The restaurant though was excellent we enjoyed every bite and it's certainly the best aspect of the hotel. The bar is nice and has a good range of drinks. The spa includes a children's pool which makes it a wholly unrelaxing experience. If I had booked a spa day I'd be dreadfully disappointed. I will in future avoid the crowne plaza chain.
