Disliked: THE HOTEL DOUBLE BOOKED US AND DID NOT COMMUNICATE THIS WITH US UNTIL WE ARRIVED AT 10PM AT NIGHT WHERE WE THEN HAD TO MOVE TO ANOTHER HOTEL

A dreadful experience!

Liked: It looked nice, but we didn’t get any further than reception as our booking was cancelled and we weren’t informed until we arrived to check in at 9pm!
Disliked: The lack of notice for the cancellation. I had booked this room back in April and only found out on the day (7th December) that the hotel had overbooked several rooms and we had to be transferred to a different hotel. The property we were transferred to was the Holiday Inn at Gatwick airport. Nice enough hotel but very noisy throughout the night with people arriving and leaving at all times for flights. I had specifically booked a hotel that wasn’t so close to the airport as my daughter was taking part in a dance competition for the weekend and we needed a decent night’s sleep. We had been up since 7, driven for 2 hours in storm Darragh and then spent 11 hours at the competition so we were very tired. To only be told when we arrived at 9pm was disgraceful. We then had to drive on to the next hotel, which I was assured was only 9 minutes drive away, but it did take us longer to find the place as the entrance wasn’t clear. We were due back at the competition early the following morning and had to set out even earlier than planned due to the new hotel being further away from the venue. We were both absolutely exhausted from having a very disturbed night from the noise at the Holiday Inn and had another 10 hour day and 2 hour drive home. Not a good experience at all!!

Disliked: Our room was double booked, we were bumped by a Christmas party, even though we had booked in April this year. We didn't arrive at the hotel until 10pm due to the event we were attending and then found we had to go to another hotel, 20 minutes away. Shocking, upsetting and VERY inconvenient
