Stayed two nights to attend an event at the OVO Hydro, arriving Friday with an early Sunday departure. Room cost £150 per night which is the going rate I guess but too much for my pocket in future. The reception manager took my details and then gave me a slip to sign £100 over and above the accommodation cost! I queried this and he claimed, falsely that he had mentioned this and it was to cover other expenditure for my convenience. That might have been the case but it most definitely had NOT been mentioned. The lifts, which were painfully slow, seemed to have permanent queues at all times during the stay and the access stairs tucked away, not obviously signed. The room itself supposedly had a 'river view' - well sort of. Actually it had a car park view, with the Clyde off to one side. The quality of cotton bedding was very high and the room was very clean and well presented.Dining; quick service, food was fresh, hot and tasty: main meal around £18. No complaints. Breakfast was spoiled not by the food and drink but by over attentive staff who swooped to clear tables even if diners were just recharging a coffee mug. One poor old soul near me had his table cleared three times while he pottered back and forth. Excessive. The staff are generally friendly (students waiting at tables - very pleasant) and helpfulThe reason for my stay was a concert - the link to this hotel failed to offer a significantly attractive discount for me to consider returning. It will depend on the depth of your pocket, but as hotels go, this is pretty reasonable, but imaginitive pricing linked to events would be welcomed, otherwise I'll air b'n'b in future.
Liked: Sleeping accommodation, dining.
Disliked: Lift service was appalling, reception - 1 staff member was dreadful.

Fab hotel to stay in for the OVO or SECC. Only a couple of minutes walk away. Great views from the bedroom window over the Clyde. Easy walk into Glasgow from the hotel. Highly recommend.
Liked: Staff really helpful; whole place spotlessly clean; great breakfast choice; nice pool and gym facilities.
Disliked: Nothing.

We stayed for one night to see The Corrs; the hotel was very good; the food was delicious with plenty of choice; the staff were very pleasant and helpful; the only negative was that they drowned my drink - I ordered a vodka and diet coke and I got a very large glass full of tap coke. It was awful, so I never drank it and never ordered any more. Also the hotel is a 2 minutes walk to The Hydro.
Liked: Excellent food and service.
Disliked: My drink was drowned.

Liked: Location
Disliked: Public hair in the bed.Called reception for 20 mins from mobile and from room, no answer. Went downstairs to find the staff standing talking together saying they are understaffed. This was at around 11pm and no other guests were around.

Poor standard and over priced
Liked: It was close to the venues that we were going to. It had a pool.
Disliked: Hotel was very dated in areas. We upgraded to a club room but were unable to use the club facilities due to lack of space. Lifts were broken and we had to use to house keeping lift as Staircase was in an unacceptable standard. Pool shower was broken and towel bin overflowing with dirty towels. Toilets bedside foyer had overflowing bins. Windows in the bar area were dirty the whole weekend of our stay with coffee or tea stains. Breakfast was poor. On one of the mornings they had ran out of hot water for tea, milk for the cereal, fruit juices and glasses, yogurt selections and pastries.

Disliked: Only one lift out of three was working on Sunday morning which wasn't ideal, as we were on the 7th floor and as our Daughter isn't physically able for them, we must have waited 15-20 minutes for one to come available.
