Not the luxury of 4...

Liked: Distance to Chester town centre was excellent. Staff were friendly and polite.
Disliked: Nothing felt particularly 4 star! No dressing gowns in rooms. I requested them from reception and after waiting nearly half an hour we headed to the pool without them. They did arrive at the room...but only 2 after I requested 3. And they weren't of a spa standard, just thin waffle short gowns. Tea and coffee supplied but nowhere to plug in the kettle...unless you put it in the entry on the floor! No plug sockets anywhere for anything!! There was only cups for 2, even though we were 3! The pool area is ok, although the changing rooms are terrible: none of the lockers available worked, doors hanging off hinges and it obviously needs work doing to the walls in the ladies changing area. Things are generally looking a bit tired. We did have a comfortable night's sleep and the room was warm.

Ups and downs, just good...

Liked: The customer facing and community areas were very nice, stylishly decorated. Like the bar and restaurant, spa. The breakfast offering was very good. Just a walk down an alley and you're in the centre of Chester.
Disliked: No tea bags in the rooms!It's more like a 6.5 out of 10.The corridors and the room itself seemed a little tired and small. Things fell off walls, there wasn't quite enough sockets or space to put anything. The location is weird, externally it's an ugly hotel with very hidden access points, if you miss it, it's down to the roundabout and back. The check-in process is appallingly long, with children waiting that long was a nightmare. I would avoid it and arrive late. It truly is like torture.

Disliked: Beds appear a little uncomfortable in all Crown Plaza hotels I have stayed in?

A lovely mini break in...

Liked: Breakfast has a good choice, the eggs Benedict tasted amazing, eggs runny. Close proximity to shops, restaurants and bars.Staff were friendly and informative. Able to park my car in hotel car park.
Disliked: Swimming pool was overcrowded, needs a complete refurbishment.
