This award-winning B&B is located in Berwick-upon-Tweed an historic coastal town and the most northerly town in England. The old walls that surround the town are a 10-minute walk away and the ruins of the castle are also nearby. For over 400 years Berwick was a crucial area in the border wars between England and Scotland. It has numerous striking sights including bridges across the River Tweed and a number of pretty old buildings. Norham Castle which has been besieged at least 13 times in its history is a 15-minute drive from Cowrie Guest House. Rooms at Cowrie Guest House are elegant and traditionally furnished and each has a flat-screen TV and tea and coffee making facilities. Every room also benefits from a modern private bathroom with free toiletries. A home-cooked hearty breakfast is provided each morning. A wide range of restaurants eateries and cafes can be reached within 15 minutes' walk.

friendly and cosy b&b in...

Liked: lovely central b&b in berwick. very friendly and welcoming hosts, clean and comfy room, good breakfast
Disliked: everything was very good! some noise from the road outside but very central location so to be expected. still a great place and a lovely stay

Good location and great hosts.

Liked: Ian and Ruth were lovely hosts and Ian was helpful with information on check in. we enjoyed our stay.Breakfast was great.
Disliked: Even though we enjoyed our stay, unfortunately although room was nicely decorated and bedding was of a high standard, the room was very small and we struggled finding space for our two suitcases. When we managed to find space we had to be careful not to trip over cases.

Exceptional

Liked: Ian is very approachable, and his local knowledge is A1. A very friendly host. Great breakfast, food 10/10 presentation 11/10. Loved the local sausage and haggis.A warm and ver comfortable room.Location - We could not ask for better. We weren't aware it was on Main Street until we arrived, and we were able to park up our car and have a truly relaxing break. The parking in Berwick upon Tweed is ample and free on Council Car Parks but also very reasonable at the train stationIt was a very pleasant trip and will return to complete our tour of the town and surrounding attractions.
Disliked: We had to leave too soon. Would book longer next time.

The perfect guest house in...

Liked: The hosts were both very friendly, and the breakfasts were delicious and varied. Our room was really well thought-out and had everything we might need in it. And the Cowrie Guest House is perfectly located to explore Berwick!
