I would be very much inclined to stay again at the Courtyard Marriott Virginia Beach - lovely, comfortable room; very quiet facility; enthusiastic and welcoming staff!

Liked: Very quiet! The most quiet hotel in which I have ever stayed. Well decorated and furnished room, with lovely fixtures and finishes. Bed very comfortable. The persons serving in the Bistro were so pleasant, warm, and friendly - plus the food was delicious and very reasonably priced.
Disliked: The shower head in my bath could not be adjusted down or the type of stream changed - it was very vigorous and because I am short, it nearly hit me in the face!

Liked: The rooms were clean and the front desk reception was fantastic. When we checked in the gentleman gave us directions to our venue and was so positive.

Liked: My room was not cleaned to my standards. There was a visible blood stain on the sheets. There was hair in the towel, and the tub was visibly dirty.
Disliked: Housekeeping could have expected the sheets prior to or during making up the bed. The towels should have been expected prior to being placed in the room

Liked: It’s under renovation and the changes they are trying to implement, will be nice once finished.
Disliked: The staff at the Starbucks couldn’t speak good English. They were slow to wait on us and we couldn’t understand part of the conversation. It was very frustrating.

Disliked: They are undergoing a major renovation. I was placed in a room next to the construction entrance who worked through the weekend and the noise was extremely disruptive. My room was musty and it took until the next day before I could be moved. I would have never booked at this property if this pertinent detail had been made known on THIS site. The renovation did not just begin! The property is in a very dark area and I was forced, as a single woman traveling to walk a significant distance at night because all doors except for the main entrance were locked with guest access disabled due to the renovation and damage to a circuit. I do not fault the hotel. I fault Booking.com for not working to ensure clients have updated information about properties listed. This was completely unacceptable and I never got a follow up call from customer service as promised.

Disliked: Facility was dated. The lobby was clean but rooms, elevator and hallways were not the cleanest. Our key cards often disabled, which caused us to be inconvenienced.

Liked: The location was good, close to where I needed to be, was there to watch my sons ship deploy
Disliked: First the receptionist tried to change me again for the room,& I had already pre-paid, then the door was jammed & I had to wait for them to get it open. Then they put me in a handicap accessible room, which I am not handicap, and the bathroom was different because of it, and not in a good way for me. The beds were so uncomfortable , felt like sleeping on springs, there were people in the rooms next to me blasting music, like a party was going on, They had construction going on, which I understand, but it was not stated when booking, if would have made a difference to me, was woke up by drilling sound, and last thing to top it off, was a bug resembling a cockroach in the bathroom when I was getting dressed. I couldn’t get out of the room fast enough. To be fair, this was my third time staying at this property, and the first time I’ve ever had a bad experience….hopefully it gets better
