This is a great location with plenty to do nearby. A short cab or drive to the Tacoma Dome. For after concert activity I suggest the Swiss Bar and Grill that is easy, safe walking distance and has live music. Great staff at this clean and lovely hotel. If they just had a full service restaurant with room service it would be perfect. Valet had issues due to a large convention ending, but without the convention, it was fine. Friendly staff.

Liked: Fabulous Courtyard; better than most full service Marriott locations; only missing a full restaurant; beautiful spa and fitness center.
Disliked: Valet parking on day one was a mess due to convention ending - took more than 45 minutes after calling ahead 30 minutes prior.

My room was clean and worked great for my needs!

Liked: Staff was friendly and helpful. My car didn't have any dings or scratches that I could see and I used valet parking. The bartender (female middle aged with blond hair) was extremely nice and helpful with the dinner choices as I have celiac and she called down to the chef a few times to make sure that the items in the salad and salad dressing were gluten free.
Disliked: The only thing I noticed was two mornings when I went down to the workout area, the sanitation wipes were out, but I did not pick up the telephone and call.

Clean; comfortable; great service; reception and valet staff and maids offered a high standard of service. Highly recommended and will visit again. Free transit outside hotel to Tacoma Dome and Theatre district.

Good stay. But some easy...

Liked: They gave me an upgrade. So nice.
Disliked: The photos on the Marriott website showed a spa, but it's not longer there. There are also signs on each floor for ice and vending. But only ice is available. The restaurant varied a ton on service. It went from taking 35 minutes for a slice of cheesecake to getting an entire breakfast in 5 minutes. There was also a button on the phone for the restaurant, but nothing that explained if food could be ordered via phone and picked up. Just some lacking guest experience points.The layout of the suite I was upgraded to was bizarre. But it was nice to have the extra space.

Slightly overpriced for what it...

Liked: Central location in DT Tacoma. We were in town for a comedy show. We were able to walk to dinner and the comedy club. Everything was very clean. There’s a nice bar/eatery in the hotel which was nice for a night cap after our night out. The staff was very nice and polite. The hotel and the room were very clean.
Disliked: Only issue was parking. There are 2 options: self-parking or valet. Self parking is $20, I think. $30 for valet. We used valet but, wow, was it slow! There was no one attending the valet stand and took a long time to get our car parked. Luckily, you can request your car online, which we did upon checking out sometimes waiting for us when we got downstairs. They either need more valet attendants or a lot that is not so far away.

Liked: The neighborhood was very quiet and clean while we were there.
Disliked: The parking was hard to locate initially and not convenient to access. You had to walk up the entrance ramp to the garage across the street. It's a bit confusing in that the Marriott and Courtyard are adjacent to each other. Better signage in both garages (not just the Convention Center entrance) would help.

Liked: The proprietor was charming and kind, and the staff was very helpful.
Disliked: We had two rooms, and none of the showers could get hot enough. Despite spending a lot of money, I was unable to use one of the room's most crucial components. When I did not receive a discount, I was extremely irritated.
