Disappointing experience

Liked: Location is great, super close to everything and easy to find. I love that I can walk on the nature trail nearby! Despite being close to the freeway, this is a quiet hotel. The staff is very nice and friendly and the rooms are a good size with a comfortable bed and all the amenities I would expect.
Disliked: I've stayed at this location a few times and this time things seemed off. The front desk person asked me where I'd like a room, so I told her and she gave me the opposite. Then, this room had an extremely off-putting smell of old tobacco so I asked to switch rooms. I switched rooms and found ants in the bathroom as well as some strange stains on the bathroom walls. The parking fee is ridiculous given there is a two story garage that was basically 75% empty. Given the nightly cost, I'm not sure I'll stay here again while visiting on business. :(

My home away from home...

Liked: I have been staying here every year since it opened as it is near my daughter and family. Christmas, graduations, summertime stays…always at this hotel because it never disappoints. The staff is A+. The room is comfortable, quiet and the bed and bedding very nice. This year, I traveled with my dog. We discovered new walkways with early morning views of water and waterfowl. More than a place to lay my head, this feels like my own quiet respite.

Exceptional

Convenient location to downtown RWC...

Liked: The rooms were clean, beautiful and very large. Overall, they were extremely comfortable and everything I wanted for a hotel room. There was also a walkway under the freeway to go to downtown Redwood City in about 10 minutes. We didn't have a car during our stay since we're from out of the country, so that made meal times very convenient.
Disliked: The coffee bar that's open in the morning was very expensive! Also, between that and the little food market by the check in counter - the healthy food choices were slim.

Liked: very clean, staff very pleasant and the bartender Adrian one of the best ! Will be staying again soon.

Very poor

Liked: Te front desk person was rude notched by other, she talk above us to passing customer didn't listen to us gave us incorrect information about parking the haul that made us spend a 1/2 day looking for other overnight parking- across the bridge. To find out the next day park was available for the tall truck on the street. The first 2 days of four day the room had ants, the coffee cup lids di not work and there was no room service. The front desk said it wasn't available.The first night was over $400 dollars a night ( poor service- not a five star hotel). The last night was $15- got what we expected.
