I enoyed my stay there and I will be visiting again. The service was great and I enjoyed the many different things located inside the motel as well as the nearby attractions. The room was clean and ready on arrival.

The beds were comfortable and the comforter almost got stolen - yeah, it was comfy! The staff was super nice and Daryl parked my jeep like a boss. I will be back to this hotel soon!

Disliked: There is no housekeeping at all . I stayed for 3 nights and not even once the room was attended for housekeeping. I had requested the front desk on all the days to request for housekeeping however nobody turned up. On all the days I was keeping the garbage outside my room so that someone could clear it. Not worth marriott standards at all.

Liked: Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Norfolk is located a short walking distance from NORVA, a music venue which was our destination. It is next to City Hall, Norfolk courts, Waterside {and the pedestrian ferry to Portsmouth}, Nauticus/Battleship Wisconsin, and harbor cruises. There was some on street parking available on the weekend, but we used the hotel's valet parking which was $25/night. There were number of dining establishments open in the area, although the nearby McArthur Mall seemed to be dead. We found a nice breakfast place nearby. The Chrysler Museum is nearby. The Tide light rail transit system runs past the hotel and operates at fairly frequent intervals.
Disliked: Our room had a view of a parking lot and a courthouse, but not of the Elizabeth River as is the case with some other hotels nearby. Our room was comfortable, but the furnishings were highly worn and somewhat dingy in appearance. Breakfast was not provided despite the price point for the room being fairly high for the region, and the offerings were limited. The lobby bistro does cook eggs to order, so not all food is microwaved as some reviews have stated. The common areas were also somewhat worn and in need of refurbishment. There was a substantial number of aggressive panhandlers and vagrants in this downtown area, and little police presence. There was a suprising number of middle-class residents in the area, as well as student-age persons, and nearby bars and restaurants were well populated-although the doorman at one was open-carrying a pistol at midday on a weekend.
