Liked: We stayed in the honeymoon suite, and it was amazing
Disliked: The bed mattress wasn't the most comfortable, but it didn't affect our stay

Liked: The breakfast was good if a little limited on choice. Yhe level.of service varied throughout our meal a bit all or nothing.We loved the grandness of the hotel and the rural setting.
Disliked: The room was spacious and well styled but the decor was tired. The shower was not great. We did not use the jacuzzi bath, that is not an important feature for us.The first floor landing had an artificial fragrancer the smell was unpleasant and overpowering (unnecessary?)

Characterful hotel with lovely staff

Liked: Great size and set up of room. Suited our needs perfectly. Staff, particularly Hannah and a lady who brought squash to our room were fabulous. So friendly and couldn’t do enough. The granola was absolutely delicious
Disliked: We looked forward to a family hour or so in the room watching tv before bed but couldn’t get it to work and had to get staff to make it work for us. We then had the same issue in the morning and had to give up. If there is a knack it would be useful to have information in the room. The bath is lively and deep but very high to try to step in to shower. Maybe a small stool would help. We were told the breakfast would be buffet due to a wedding which was fine but when we sat down there was a menu stating buffet and poached eggs etc. we therefore made choices based on this. When we ordered however we were told buffet only and eggs were made for us but I did feel we were being a bit awkward. As a suggestion maybe don’t put menus on the table if food can’t be offered that day as it confused us. Also the utensils were all on top of the buffet. That was fine but I had no idea which to use so just used any for bacon. This would then of course be an issue if a vegetarian came as they wouldn’t know which I had used. Overall we had a lovely stay I am writing only to try to give feedback that may help improve a lovely place with wonderful staff

Liked: I had an amazing weekend for a wedding decorated beautifully The food was so nice and the staff couldn't do enough for you, so friendly and polite and definitely stay here again x

Sold a story of a...

Liked: The front of the building is nice and the breakfast was nice, the staff were polite and friendly.
Disliked: The hotel has a very “forgotten about it” feel, it is evident to me that they run as many weddings through it as possibly to ensure income is high! Whilst the facilities are of a low standard, all fixtures & finishing are poorly don’t with the rooms feeling way out dated and in a lot of requirement for updating. The room has filler marks all over the walls along with paint/wallpaper peeling of the walls, large gaps around doors and poor lighting all over. Light switches either didn’t work or were loose fitting.

Nice

Liked: Lovely building and surroundings. The restaurant was vey good. Friendly staff.
Disliked: There was a problem with flies in my room when I opened the window. I did state I was pregnant, yet I was given a room at the very top of the building. No one helped with bags so I had to go up and down lots of steps making multiple trips as I had a dog bed etc. when I made the booking I stated I had a dog , yet I was charged a further £20 that I was unaware of upon booking.
