Comfort Inn & Suites Portage...

Liked: The hotel itself is nice. The rooms are great. I stayed for about a week. I really enjoyed the king suite with the living room, whirlpool, and fireplace. However, the hot tub by the pool had all this grime along the waterline on the sides and specs from it are all over the bubbles. I got out and wouldn't go back in until they cleaned it. Well, no one cleaned it the whole time I was there. What upset me most is that I specifically asked Yolanda at the front desk if I could use my Choice Membership, and she said that I couldn't get it that night because of the discount I was getting. What about all of the other nights I stayed and didn't have a discount? I missed out on about a week of stays which I could really use right now... There were other things I went to the desk for. Everyone else was helpful and friendly besides this one man who seemed to be a manager or higher up.. no friendly at all either. Although, he did help me when I tried to book another night a week after my first stay and my bank wouldn't approve that specific transaction or any with Comfort Inn & Suites. I found that very odd.. Yolanda seemed to be annoyed and bothered even when I asked for a few dollars in quarters to do laundry. I told her nevermind, I can try somewhere nearby, and she said it was okay but explained why it was bothering her as she got them for me. They definitely need a change machine for the laundry room.

Disliked: Pool was cold. There was also a security guard in the pool area, but he was too busy on his phone to say anything to the rowdy 15 kids throwing a ball in the pool and almost knocking me over with my 10 month old. (Rules posted were no balls and no squirt guns allowed in pool area) yet there was both squirt guns and big pool balls. Breakfast was OK. The area was a MESS (tables weren't getting wiped down as people left). The strawberries that were put out in a container were extremely rotton so we had to throw our plates away and start over without the strawberries.
