If you want basic affordable...

Liked: The overwhelming benefits of Corstophine Lodge are location (airport bus stop close by, handy for zoo and Murrayfield, busses going directly into town) and friendly staff. Decent breakfast too - cooked to order.
Disliked: The rooms are weird. They have suffered in the conversion from 2 large houses into hotel rooms with (very badly designed) en suites. The beds aren’t very comfy and facilities are basic (definitely bring your own shampoo as the soap/shampoo in the bathroom is not great).

Liked: Kind staff and typyical architecture of the place.
Disliked: High ceiling in the ground floor rooms, so it was a little bit colder even with the highest temperatures, but it was not a big deal for us, since under blanket was warm enough.

Comfortable stay in a lovely...

Liked: Everything. Room was lovely and staff and breakfast superb.
Disliked: As I said room was lovely and location was good. Great breakfast and lovely staff.

Liked: An older style room, very clean and comfortable, and an excellent size (for 3). Handy to main bus to city and airport.
Disliked: Water pressure in shower could be better, and first night it was very windy and the window rattled loudly. All quite minor as we enjoyed our stay.

Handy place to stay for...

Liked: We left early for airport which was only reason for staying overnight. Kindly left us a packed breakfast evening before. Very fast and easy to get to airport which is also reason for booking. Room spacious as given 3 bed room for 2. Owners very helpful and friendly.
Disliked: Personally found bed a bit soft and pillows very flat- maybe due for an upgrade. Was however clean and well presented. Shower fixtures quite stiff as well but was warm enough.
