Nice, but hot.

Liked: Clean and easy to get to from the train station.
Disliked: My room faces west and the afternoon sun took the temp up to 26C/79F with no AC. They did supply a fan and the windows opened.

I’d give Greymouth a miss.

Liked: Not much, but then there wasn’t much about Greymouth to like.
Disliked: Old, tired, bathroom needed updating, could see into bathroom from balcony, lots of noise from rain due to flat roof.

Liked: The location is central.
Disliked: Room was not as expected. Smelt of musty / mold. Very noisy and hot. No air-conditioning, small bathroom with shower head way too low for a normal size person.
