Liked: The location went great. It was very close to downtown so I got to go to the shops and restaurants in no time and also the hotel was very clean and very cute.
Disliked: The walls are paper thin, you could hear your neighbor upstairs and next-door. Sounds like elephants are moving around in the room next to you.

Liked: The location is excellent, just at the edge of downtown so easy walking to everything in the Ocean Avenue center.The rooms were exceptionally clean. Enough plugs for cpap machine, all our chargers. The breakfast was ample with eggs, sausage patties, yogurt for protein foods as well as the usual cereals, bread and packaged pastries; and of course coffee and juice: included in the room price.Comfortable shower.
Disliked: Not quite enough blanketry for me, but I found out that my husband turned off the heat. I had worn only medium sleepwear for a January stay, since most of my recent hotel rooms have been too warm. I could have called the desk for an extra blanket or turned on the heat myself. I would definitely return, with warmer pajamas and my tv blanket!

Liked: The room and the location was very nice. It was beautiful out there, and being in walking distance of everything was a plus.
Disliked: The breakfast could've been a little better, but it was free, so I couldn't complain too much about that.

Liked: The front desk person named Om was exceptionally helpful and kind. He was also personable. He made my stay better.I wish more people were like that!! Even though this hotel is at the farthest end of Carmel’s “main drag”, it was a walkable distance to shops, eating and the famed beach. Coming back from the beach was harder, since it’s a constant hill, but there are benches along Ocean Ave., and plenty to stop and gawk at. Also, the distance from my room to my parked car was mere steps. The breakfast offered protein of scrambled eggs & sausage patties, yoghurt, breads, danishes, fruits, cereal, coffees, juices, etc. That was worthwhile, since I could eat & go quickly or take it to my room. Breakfasts in many other hotels are disappointments having no protein, only carbs. So thank you for being better than many. I liked the common patio area too, where I could eat outside. Before arriving, I called about wanting to possibly extend my stay with a 3’d night, and Om kindly arranged it so I didn’t have to move to another room. That was a deciding factor for me.
Disliked: The not-so-good were maintenance issues. Maintenance guy had to go out of town, I was told. -My TV remote was glitchy. 50% of the time it didn’t work. Annoying. I asked for another remote, but never got it. -Also, the TV volume had a limit, and when nearby hotel guests used their bathrooms, it was impossible to hear my TV. Darn it! -The room’s phone had a bright red message light blinking, which was not left for me, as I checked.Om investigated, but couldn’t resolve it. I covered up the light. -I asked for windex, but that was locked away in maintenance. I wanted a clearer view of the gorgeous ocean from my window, but that wasn’t possible, sadly. I cleaned the inside of the window with water, but wasn’t going to undo the tight screens to reach the outside. That was a bummer! The floor needed a sweep from previous guests, and I gladly did that when I got a broom from cleaning staff. Regardless of where I stay, I do expect the windows and floors to be cleaned as well, since hotel stays are expensive.
