Liked: Perfect location for exploring the local area. Staff were excellent. We ate in there for the three nights we stayed.
Disliked: It’s a dog friendly hotel so bear that in mind if you don’t like dogs, it got quite noisy with barking late at night in the rooms.

Not good

Liked: Not much, but the staff did acknowledge we had had a bad stay
Disliked: Hotel room freezing, towel rail in bathroom not working, booked the resturant, had to eat in the bar, food cold, breakfast was awful... couldnt eat it.We had stayed here before and had a lovely time... but not this time ... we wont be coming back

Not what we expected unfortunately.

Liked: The food was reasonable.
Disliked: We booked a 2 night stay to celebrate my birthday. The first night was OK, we ate in the bar and the food was OK with good sized portions.On the second night there was a party night in their function room. We ate out that night and returned back to the accommodation around 9pm. We sat in the bar and had a drink and the party attendees were in and out of the bar to order drinks.It was evident that as the night progressed certain individuals had too much to drink and the atmosphere between some could only lead to problems later.Unfortunately the bar staff continued to serve them with more alcohol and when we retired to our room which was located at the top of the stairs I commented to my wife that there would be trouble later.Inevitably a fight broke out downstairs around 11.45pm which spilled out into the foyer and the aftermath continued outside underneath our bedroom window for some time.The hotel manager was very apologetic in the morning and did promise to email me with a formal apology and some form of compensation for the inconvenience caused. However to date no email has been received.I'm afraid we will not be returning to the Colwell Park.
