Excellent - would stay again

Liked: Lovely hotel in a beautiful part of Bristol, really easy to get around and a stone’s throw away from lots of bars and restaurants and an undercover market. The room was very comfortable and clean, friendly staff and great breakfast.

Liked: Nice Property but the breakfast was an abomination, stone cold both mornings.For the money this hotel charges (nearly £400 for 2 nights) I fail to see how they can justify the lack of attention to the basics like serving hot food at breakfast. We spent 2 nights and both mornings the breakfast was stone cold. It is a simple task to have a member of the waiting staff closely monitoring the buffet breakfast and in communication with the kitchen drip feed hot food into the buffet as required. Instead they just mass cook everything and leave it there to go cold. It’s lazy and is not good enough for the price point.Won’t be returning

Unacceptable and dishonest additional charge

Disliked: Unacceptable and dishonest additional charge. The full amount of the reservation was paid and they charge additional amount of €178- with no reason. The treatment we received was completely unprofessional.We booked bed and  breakfast to Clayton hotel for 4 nights. We paid all the due amount during the check-in process . We received proof that the amount was paid in full and our visa card account debited the correct amount . On the day of departure, without any explanation, we were charged an additional amount of €178-. Despite that we tried again and again for clarifications, they were never given to us.

Exceptionally clean hotel, great location

Liked: Exceptionally clean! Very comfortable beds! Quiet in the rooms! Location is spot on to access all of Bristol...shopping, Docks and Clifton area.We did self check in so didn't really have any engagement with staff but they were present and appeared friendly. We didn't do breakfast as so many options around Bristol and therefore can't comment on the food.
Disliked: Nothing not to like!

Liked: The location of the hotel is very central. The room is spacious and comfortable. The breakfast is really good.
Disliked: On arrival, I noticed a dirty sock in room. I spoke with the front desk member of staff who then called the manager. When the manager came into the room, he just collected the sock with his bare hands and went away. No apologies, no nothing. Terrible attitude from a night manager. 3 days into my stay, when I got back from a long day of work, the rooms hadn’t been cleaned, even though I had previously left the tag outside the door to have the room cleaned and refreshed. Once again, I called front desk and they sent someone up. This is neither fair with the guest nor the housekeeping staff. Once again, the manager did not offer his apologies. I would advised a complete retraining of staff on how to deal with situations like that.
