Disliked: Room was not cleaned. Smelled like cigarettes and chemicals

Liked: Coffee in breakfast area was good and available all day
Disliked: The remote control would not work unless I unplugged the tv. It would turn the tv on but I couldn’t change channels sometimes but other times it worked . Desk clerk thought it was the remote connection to tv but I tried pushing it in to make sure connection was secure and it was. The clerk did say to call back if that didn’t work but I was near end of stay so just unplugged and replugged

Liked: The location was central to restaurants and supermarkets, if you wanted to shop you could do that also, they had a few known stores around
Disliked: if you're not aware the curtains are open, people walking by can see in the room from the hallway.

Liked: Nice room with a balcony, microwave and fridge. Breakfast was ok, eggs were cold.
Disliked: Bed was a bit hard, toilet took several flushes, breakfast was crowded and eggs were cold.

Poor

Liked: The property is misleading with how it presents in front when you first enter compared to when you enter the room. It looks like a newish hotel, but it's still antiquated in many areas. The phones in the room didn't work and when I was able to call the front desk, they explained this is an old hotel.
Disliked: The rooms look antiquated and the basic necessities such as a room phone was not working.

Disliked: This place was a dump. We paid $200/ night for a $50/ night hotel. It was dated, carpets should have been replaced 2 years ago, you could smell weed when walking through the hallway to find our room, ice maker on second floor didn't work. They say it's a 4-story hotel, it's really a 2-story motel that they closed in, so the ice maker is on the second floor that they call the 4th floor. Bedroom door had huge gaps around it, could see light under it, cracked tile in shower where someone did a shoddy job installing shower rod, phone in room was disgusting (dirty, don't think it can even be properly cleaned, should just be replaced), the pages in the binder in the room with info on local places were all stuck together, every lamp shade had holes in them, sheets were stained, only one thin blanket on bed and no bedspread (blanket was between two flat sheets), there was no staff in the breakfast area to replenish or tidy up, so you had to sit at tables where strangers had just eaten, there were random plastic forks on the floor that kept getting kicked around every time a new guest came in, etc. the eggs were gross microwaved circle-shaped eggs, the only cups they had for the coffee were the size of a Dixie cup, they didn't have napkins but instead had stacks of paper towels, like the rough-textured ones they put in dispensers in public restrooms. We found this place on booking.com by searching for hotels with breakfast in Hamden, CT. Never again.
