Liked: I arrived late as I had to drive from London as there was an awful fire that cancelled all flights out of Heathrow. So yesterday I drove from London to Switzerland. I had to break it up midway and Lille was a good place to stop. So I was exhausted and it was late. I was greeted like royalty and ushered to a clean, quite and elegant room. They charged my car overnight. They could not have been moe delightful.

Liked: Very friendly staff.
Disliked: Euro 40 franc parking charge. Much too expensive for an overnight park. No suggestion given for alternative parking location. Room was in the roof with a strange non divided bathroom … no shower … a bath and a hose … water everywhere … weird Baudelairian style decadent decor … Restaurant closed Mondays but no offer to book somewhere else of a similar standard to hotel restaurant if required. This hotel shouldn’t be in the Relais et Chateaux association. Very poor. Thankfully I got a discounted price for the room for the night. At full price, it’s a rip off.
