Liked: The location was perfect and everything (including the Javitt's Center and the subway) was within easy walking distance. The reception staff were very friendly and accommodating - happy to give recommendations for good places to eat and drink nearby. The views from the property and my room were spectacular. When I booked Booking.com was offering a free airport transfer which was an excellent deal.
Disliked: My room was tiny and barely big enough for one person. There wasn't any storage for clothes other than the hangers on coat hooks and I was surprised by the lack of housekeeping - not even the bathroom bin was emptied during my stay. The rooftop bar is very expensive and the service doesn't warrant the prices. Slow and inattentive. It's worth noting that no Americans were staying at the hotel - I'm sure they wouldn't tolerate the size of rooms and lack of facilities.

Disappointment

Disliked: I recently stayed at the Civilian Hotel NYC for 10 days with my daughter, and unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. Upon arrival, we were given a room that felt extremely claustrophobic, with barely enough space to move around our luggage. The room size was more suitable for one person, not two.Housekeeping was another major issue. Despite leaving a sign requesting our room to be refreshed, it was not done. I was informed that room refreshing is done every three days, which I find unreasonable. The shower design caused the towels to get soaked, and there was no place to dry them. The tiny trash can filled up quickly, and adjusting the room temperature required calling the reception each time.Although the hotel has nice tiles and a great view from the window, these positives do not compensate for the overall substandard experience. Given these issues, I cannot recommend the Civilian Hotel and will not be staying here again.

Liked: The location was brilliant! Literally 2 minutes walk from all the theaters on Broadway, & not even 5 minutes to Times Square.
Disliked: The rooms were a tad on the small side, but we knew this when booking. It's just something to bear in mind. No tea & coffee making facilities, I do like a nice cup of tea to start my day. Don't get me wrong, there are tea & coffee making in the restaurant, which are free.
