Great place but be prepared...

Liked: The landscaping and the views are gorgeous
Disliked: The restaurant. Very poor breakfast.

Beautiful place

Liked: Beautiful resort and room was comfortable
Disliked: The hills got slick and needed signs to say beware of hill. Us and other guests were sliding down hills in cars.

We enjoyed our stay so...

Liked: We loved the secluded room with the private balcony and private entrance. We loved the fireplace and the jacuzzi tub.
Disliked: We could hear the people in the room above ours talking and we could even hear them peeing in their bathroom.

Lovely setting; not so lovely...

Liked: Check in was a git unpleasant; I had messaged that we were traveling with a Shih Tzu (after seeing that dogs were allowed) and had written that given the rate (it had beed doubled+ due to the holidays) that there wouldn't be an additional fee. I later saw that one should call if bringing a pet, but an agent replied and confirmed our communication and that a pet fee would not be charged. On arrival, agent was insistent that a fee should be paid; she finally asks to see my confirming email, then, with a 'tone' informed me that a fee would be applied in the future and that current rates would be the rates going forward. Information is always good; how it is delivered makes a big difference. I was also checking out the resort for future friends, given our family had just purchased a home in Blowing Rock. Sorry; seeing this is where you would like to hear what we liked. I thought the room was well appointed for families traveling with a pet. Lovely view of the lake; we had what we neededManhattan was tasty!!
Disliked: The hall was noisy; rooms are not well insulated. Restaurant could not accommodate us until past the time we wished to eat, even though it didn't look busy.

Liked: Location is wonderful, breakfast took far too long, first gave us a handicap room and had to move us, many stairs and no bellman, could not adjust room temperature as the thermostat was locked. Second room was very nice, comfortable but small. Overpriced for what it was
