Disappointing
Liked: WiFi was really accessible and fast. Staff morning and night were helpful, understanding and stayed calm in high pressure situations. Free parking.
Disliked: The room wasn’t clean. Floor didn’t feel clean, thick dust in places, window didn’t close properly so it was cold. Room cleanliness is mostly due to old furniture and carpets. The shower is very small and not really warm. The food is very poor for the price. The mattress is hard and you can feel every spring. The rooms aren’t very well sound proofed, so you can hear all the doors closing, people in hallways and people in the next room. My room had an angled floor, so the wardrobe was an a slant, if you had kids in the room, I would have concerns on their safety. The room is very dated, I feel as though it wouldn’t take much to modernise it (Premier Inn has basic minimal design and looks great).

Good value for the sea...
Liked: The location on the front was good and that it had a pool.
Disliked: The pool area was jaded. The room was in the attic, and the shower was very temperamental.

Good
Liked: The staff were lovely. Breakfast was tasty but not very hot
Disliked: The hotel was a bit rundown. Although, there were a few areas that had a bit of redecorating and what looked like new carpet. The bedding was clean. The bathroom was a bit grubby but you could see that housekeeping did their best.

Lovely Welsh Hotel with a...
Liked: A pleasant hotel right on the prom in good proximity to the town centre, railway station and pier. The rooms were clean and comfortable and housekeeping ensured the tea and coffee making facilities were generously stocked. It was quiet and relaxed, a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The children loved the swimming pool and spent hours in it. A fantastic bonus especially in the colder weather. The sea view rooms don’t disappoint and there is plenty of hot water for baths. The relaxed atmosphere (this is not a loud, bouncy, crazy weekend away type place) means one can quietly come and go, and there’s no curfew on returning in the evening. The majority of residents at the hotel were elderly, and each evening there was some sort of entertainment or a pop up shop to browse. Despite the age gap we didn’t feel out of place and enjoyed the slower pace.
Disliked: The water pressure isn’t great so showering isn’t easy to do- but the plentiful hot water for baths makes up for that. The bathroom we had looked recently refurbished but the actual design/tiling was a poor standard. My partner has mobility issues and the position of the toilet meant they struggled to use it as it was crammed into a tiny space with very limited legroom/width. The tiling was new but uneven and looked to have been done without spacers so the grout was of varying thickness and some tiles were wonky. Large towels are provided for swimming when requested at reception, as really, a decent sized bath towel should be standard in any hotel room, but we had to make do with smaller ones. There were only a couple of tiny soaps in the bathroom, no complimentary toiletries, which is a good idea given the plastic waste but at the same time, a little warning would be helpful, or at least the offer of a more sustainable alternative at check in should we have needed it. The rooms have no welcome pack or recommendations for visitors. I know the internet exists but having a handy guide to what is nearby eg cash points, takeaways, GP surgeries, taxi companies would be very helpful. Most of the staff were lovely, however we had a shock on the last night as there was a different barman on who was abrupt and rude and acted as though our children shouldn’t exist. The previous staff member on the bar was kind, chatty and welcomed them. We chose to view his behaviour as the exception to what was a lovely stay though. I’m not sure if it was because we used 3rd party booking or not, but we had zero information about meals we might have wanted to have at the hotel aside from breakfast times. Nothing about the food availability, or option to pay for it on top of board.

Shocking.
Liked: Location was okay. Everything else was very disappointing.
Disliked: No Hot water in the 1st room. 1st room was Very dirty , shower was discusting as if it hadn't been properly cleaned in ages. ( Photos Below )2nd room we got moved to , Had hot water but the room itself was even worse than the 1st room. Coffee stains on the shelves, Dirty carpet, Hairs all on the side of the bath. Bought a drink at the bar...all over it was TABACCO. This hotel needs a serious refurbishment.
