I would not recommend for...
Liked: It's close to the supermarkets, restaurants and entertainment venues in Lowell.
Disliked: Barely usable, unsecured WiFi; 2.4 GHz is not enough data for a home router let alone a "resort" and they absolutely could offer an access code to their paying customers. No cable channels aside from Freevee.Bed linen with big yellow stains which housekeeping assured me was clean, but "sometimes the stains don't come out." Why on Earth would they continue to use it then? Yellow pull out couch with stains.Housekeeping doesn't clean the rooms when occupied or thoroughly after check-out (I found a baby bottle under the mirrored mini fridge cabinet during our 10 day stay).Mini fridge always had puddles of water on each shelf. We could hear the occupant(s) in the room overhead stomping around. I asked to speak to management twice yet that request went ignored. The building and property itself is beautiful, but my stay wasn't worth the over $2,000 it cost me.

Disastrous Initial Stay, But Will...
Liked: Prior to getting into this review, I want to note that the hotel management reached out to me to offer my wife and I a re-do of our stay, free of charge. I'm writing this review based off of the original stay, NOT the re-do. I am hoping to update this review to a more glowing response after our re-do of a stay. Booking.com just has a time limit for writing this review, and we won't get a chance to re-do our stay before the time limit is up, unfortunately.First off, the hotel has a lovely atmosphere, a nearby spa parlor and pool (it is not connected directly, but is located nearby), and beautiful rooms. The decor is warm, if a bit dated. All in all, it has a nice charm to it. I'm not certain I'd classify it as "up-scale", but it certainly has an allure that is beautiful!Additionally, I want to note that, the morning after the second night, we filed a formal complaint with hotel management, and they hit the ROOF. They followed up with us in literal minutes, had multiple people learn what happened, pulling out all the stops, confirmed what we'd said and our talks with the concierges, and agreed it was unacceptable. I want to stress this, because I do NOT believe our experience to be the norm, and they IMMEDIATELY tried to rectify it once we'd been escalated through the chain properly. They also confirmed that the concierge the night before had had options to help us resolve our issues, including a room change (which we'd explicitly asked for and were denied as a possibility), which suggests maybe just the concierge had been the issue in the escalation chain. They clearly cared about the poor experience we had, and wanted to do everything that they could to help us fix that issue, going so far as to comp part of our bill, and offer us a complimentary stay with spa treatment. I'm anticipating updating this review (hopefully to a much more glowing review!) once my wife and I can find time to accept their offer!
Disliked: Again, to stress, I'm loathe to write this review without having taken hotel management up on a re-do of our stay, but Booking.com's time limit gives me few options. This event does not appear to be normal, and this is NOT our final review. We stayed for 2 nights, as part of a "parent's getaway" my wife and I planned for ourselves. The first night we arrived, everything was fine, and, aside from the A/C blasting the room to ~62F/16C, we had a decent evening. We turned off the A/C because it was so cold.In the morning, we explicitly set the A/C back on before we left. Upon our return around 8:30/9 PM, however, the room had hit nearly 80F/26C. Literally, the hallway was ice cold, and you walked into our room to a wall of heat and humidity. My wife and I were stunned, and thought we'd forgotten to set the thermostat back. After confirming it was set to cool and supposed to be running, we went to the front desk. The concierge simply said, "You shouldn't have touched the A/C."My wife and I talked, but neither of us recalled being told not to touch the A/C, nor why A) we were allowed to change the temperature if it was this fragile, or B) why it was set so cold. The concierge was unhelpful at best. Regardless, we brushed it off and asked if there was anything they could do. Their answer was to give us an industrial fan, and tell us to open the windows... which didn't have screens. This bills itself as an upscale hotel, a high class gem. The first night wasn't anything special, but the second had us spending TWO HOURS swapping off, holding a fan in the window to cool the room down. And, without screens, we had at least a few instances of bugs deciding to come give us a visit. Repeat visits to the front desk to plead for any additional help, maintenance, or even a room change were rebuffed. Not really a 5 star experience...
