Waste of money

Disliked: When I made the reservation for this property, I can see there are pictures of this property with spas. But it is not mentioned in the description or anywhere that if we have children, the cottages with spas will not be available for us to stay. During the whole process of reservation before I enter my credit card details and confirm, I was not informed which one out of the 4 cottages I will stay in. Therefore, I didn't know this rule about cottages with spas not available for families with children, until I arrived at the property and phoned the host. She admitted that if I booked via booking I won't know which one I would stay, but if I have children, I would automatically be allocated to the one without a spa, but from the app I can see pictures for all cottages including the spa pictures.This whole process is quite confusing and misleading. It should be made clear in the description that for families with children, the cottages with spas will not be available. Does it make sense? If I know there will be no spa for the property we are staying at, I won't book this property for sure, as it is very old and worn, and the price is much higher than similar properties in that area.Also, this property is lacking proper maintenance. Once we entered this house, there was a very strong smell of mould. There are spider webs on the walls, the outdoor bbq area is greasy, the baby high chair is greasy, shelves, sofa and rugs are dirty with dust. I believe the pictures for this listing were old pictures like 9 years ago which cannot properly reflect its current condition. It was very unreasonable for such a property without any attractive features (spa, that is the only reason I choose to stay here) to be listed for $1334 for only nights, while other properties were about $900.Very unhappy with this stay. Actually we only stayed one night because the mould smell gave me a headache and I couldn't fall asleep until I wore a mask to cover my face.

Liked: Breakfast supplied was great and the spa was a bonus. Everything we needed to make our stay comfortable was provided.We would have liked another night to fully enjoy the facilities offered.

Disliked: Place highly needs in depth cleaning, check-in procedure should be clarified prior arrival, room and toilet upstairs are open on staircase and has no privacy, noise and light are also coming in. Not worth the price, not our definition of “luxury B&B”

Liked: Breakfast was plentiful! And delicious. Lots of choices available. Really enjoyed the selection.
Disliked: Had some initial trouble getting check in information but was resolved very quickly by the owner.

Liked: Unique setting and ambience. Such “heritage” charm is hard to come by.Excellent breakfast provisions.Children loved the tots and books.
Disliked: Steep stairs in Jessica’s cottage. Luckily I was not sleeping upstairs.. but the view was beautiful so I had to go up.
