Great facility! Our room felt like an elegant tree house with the redwood deck extending into the woods. The staff was perfect and the food was amazing and really fun. Ostrich Carpaccio - WOW! Current rates makes this resort a bargain!!

Always a lovely stay at...
Liked: We have stayed here several times and always enjoy the ambiance and amenities.
Disliked: We had to park quite a distance from our room due to the influx of restaurant traffic. Designated parking for hotel guests should be considered.

A lovely hotel in a...
Liked: The hotel is in a great location, the restaurant terrace has a wonderful view. We loved the nature trails around the hotel and the close proximity to the redwood forests. The restaurant serves great meals and the bar and wait staff were very friendly and welcoming. Hotel rooms are generous and comfy bed
Disliked: I don’t like having to make a special request to get the room made up

Liked: Beautiful location, lovely view at bar and restaurant
Disliked: We arrived to check in and the area was full of boxes like we were in a FedEx office. Our room was making all kinds of noise, potentially from another rooms air conditioning (ours was off).

Disliked: Comments:I recently stayed at Chaminade Resort from September 26 to 29, 2024, and encountered several issues that impacted my stay.Room Reservation Confusion: Despite having two reservations to extend my stay, I was initially checked in for one night only. The issue was eventually resolved, but it caused unnecessary confusion. Lack of Fee Transparency:When I booked through Booking.com, neither the pet fee nor the resort fee were clearly disclosed. The pet fee was mentioned vaguely as “a pet fee applies” without providing the exact amount. Similarly, the resort fee was only mentioned as, “a daily resort fee applies” without specifying the cost. This lack of upfront transparency in fees constitutes "drip pricing," which became illegal in California as of July 1, 2024.Forced Room Change & Multiple Pet Fees: I was asked to change rooms mid-stay, and as a result, I was charged two pet fees. I believe a single pet fee should have been applied, especially since the room change was initiated by the hotel.Resort Fee & Amenities: The resort fee of $40 per night did not align with the quality of amenities offered. Wi-Fi, in-room coffee, and water bottles are standard features at many lower-tier hotels.Staff Interaction: During my stay, I felt pressured to adjust my plans due to the room change, and the overall communication could have been handled in a more considerate and professional manner.

Disliked: Comments:I recently stayed at Chaminade Resort from September 26 to 30, 2024, and encountered several issues that impacted my stay.Room Reservation Confusion:Forced Room Change & Multiple Pet Fees: I was asked to change rooms mid-stay, and as a result, I was charged two pet fees. A single, flat pet fee should have been applied, particularly since the room change was initiated by the hotel.Resort & Pet Fees – Drip Pricing Concerns: The resort fee of $40 per night and the pet fees were not clearly disclosed on Booking.com or other third-party platforms. This practice, known as "drip pricing," where additional fees are revealed only after booking, is not only misleading but also illegal in the state of California as of July 1, 2024. I believe the fees should be transparent and consistent across all booking platforms to avoid confusion and frustration for future guests.Attached are screenshot of booking.com fees information and the other HotelTonight fee information. Both totally different. Staff Interaction: I felt pressured to adjust my plans due to the room change, and overall communication from staff could have been handled more professionally and in a less condescending tone.While I appreciated certain aspects of the property, the lack of fee transparency and inconsistent, rude communication diminished the experience. I hope the hotel will ensure clearer disclosure of fees and provide smoother service for future guests.
