Perfectly located hotel with friendly...

Liked: Excellent location just steps from the Hauptbahnhof and easy walking distance to restaurants, cafes, and historic center. We enjoyed 3 very good meals in the hotel's restaurant. The room was of reasonable size for two, with a comfortable bed, strong and reliable WIFI, and a mini-bar which included free drinks. We found our room to be quiet at night, even facing the station and one of the Christmas markets. The staff was very friendly - we had to wait 90 minutes for our room to be made ready even after official check-in time. They took care of our luggage, seated us at the bar and provided free drinks during our wait.
Disliked: The bathroom fan was very noisy and couldn’t be turned off if the bathroom light was on. The drain in the shower emptied very slowly - we reported this when we checked out so hopefully the situation was resolved. However when the housekeeping staff cleaned the shower, it would seem they could have noticed this and have it addressed.The breakfast content was good, though it didn’t vary much from day to day. It seemed the staff at breakfast changed from day to day. All were courteous but there were days when they could not keep up. On 2 or 3 occasions, empty trays on the buffet table were not replenished, and the supply of dishes or drinking glasses ran out. And on two different mornings during our 2-week stay, the stack of plates on the buffet table were not all clean. One morning I picked up the top plate and got a handful of yogurt! Outside patrons are able to order breakfast from the menu and on mornings when there were many of these customers, it seemed there was not enough staff to maintain the breakfast buffet. That said, on most days things went smoothly - we enjoyed our time here and would stay again on future visits to Hanover.
