Disliked: The motel is quite run down, threadbare carpet, kitchen and shower units are old, could do with and update. Grounds could do with a good mow and tidy up. In general the unit is in poor condition

Disliked: It was not very clean and only 1 small piece of soap and a small bottle of shampoo provided. That is not enough for a family who are taking the 2 bedroom apartment like ours

Disliked: Fittings seemed tired and run down, bathroom rails were marked and showed signs of age, light switch in bathroom faulty, you could see the neighbouring property from kitchen window which meant you could not run from the shower to the lounge to get changed without pulling the blinds, there was no toilet spray which would have been nice, didn’t quite match the photos

Disliked: We spent 15 days in NewZealand and this is by far the worst experience we had. We were mislead by the pictures on the website and the “good” average rating on the booking dot com: Big Mistake. What is not shown are the details. When you discover, it is too late. Like all the chairs and carpet had weird stains. Not sure when the carpet was last changed. Floor mat, chairs, couch all looked like it was picked up from trash. Bedroom had a weird oil smell probably from the wood? Not sure. The bed was squeaky and uncomfortable. Sheets were ok but the comforter/blanket was ancient with hairs from past guests. Bathroom had one light which is connected to an exhaust fan, which rattles crazy loud. So if someone needs to use the restroom in the middle of the night everyone will be awake. Towel handles are rusted up and looked like no one ever attempted to clean. You go to shower, the bath door does not have a seal and the water oozes out flooding the already tiny bathroom. The floor mat was soaking wet after one shower. Making things worse there were spiders in the second bedroom where the kids were housed. after seeing them they wouldn’t go to sleep.We reserved the room for 3 nights and left after the first night stay as none of us slept! I caution anyone booking for more than a night to seriously reconsider your decision. You won’t get a refund no matter how bad the property is. I sent all the pictures (I could only post 4 below)/videos to booking dot com and they agreed that the property did not fulfill their part of the commitment. Despite of their (booking dot com)best attempts to get my money back for the remaining unused nights they were unsuccessful mainly due to the manager’s ( probably the owner of the property) lack of empathy and sheer arrogance.. after all, what can a tourist do who is in the Rotorua area for a day or two apart from writing a bad review.
