Exceptional
Liked: Fantastic place to stay. Superior room, lovely huge comfy bed, huge shower. Clean & quiet. Food in the restaurant was lovely & good value for money. Biggest plus were the staff, really helpful, professional & looked after my wife who was on a special diet, nothing was too much trouble! Recommend highly!!
Disliked: Absolutely nothing.

Good but lacks potential and...
Disliked: Lacksidasical attitude of reception staff and management. It took over 4 hrs and 4 visits to reception for them to instigate a reaction to the reported problem, no heating in rooms, temperatures of 6 deg inside. Finally got a change of rooms. The substitute room was very good. I accept that the hotel had suffered as a result of storm Darragh. But the hotel had been restored to operational functionality by the time we arrived. It should be noted, however, that the extractor fans in both rooms were faulty and were very noisy as a result. Both could be a risk of fire if the fan seized. The first room had a defective cistern. All of these were reported to reception prior to leaving. A comment on the breakfast menu. A full English breakfast was advertised. If it was such, where was the Black pudding? A Hash Brown is not part and never has been a part of an English breakfast. It is merely a filler and a fad. Equally fried bread or toast is the accompaniment, not sourdough, which originated in Egypt, arrived in Europe vis greece and italy, and is presented solely because it supposedly presents an unfounded superior menu. Simply, it is not part of an English breakfast and should not be presented as such. Finally, one of the reasons for selecting the cedars was its Green King Brewery association. Imagine the dissapointmeant when we discovered that of the 6 pumps available only one was on and that dispensing a morelands beer ( albeit a green king aquisition) simply not good enough. We would have to be persuaded to return, a shame as it has all the potential to be a superb stay if more attention to detail was made.
