Such a shame

Liked: The staff were exceptional, really friendly and helpful. The lobby, bar and dining room were sleek and modern and inviting. The room and bathroom were clean and the bed comfortable. The hotel was in a great location and within walking distance from the centre of Harrogate.
Disliked: Once into the corridors leading to the bedrooms everything became very dated and ugly. A real let-down and not at all what we were expecting from the photos we had seen prior to booking. The room was simple and again the decor felt worn and dated. The bedding was thin and on the double bed there were 2 single duvets velcroed together which was uncomfortable and noisy. The buffet breakfast although in a lovely setting and had lots of options was also disappointing. The sausages were clearly not cooked fresh even though we were not down late for breakfast, as they were hard and rubbery. The fried eggs were largely raw on top do had to avoid them and the scrambled eggs had a strange texture making them inedible.

Disliked: Could hear the neighbouring room tv through the wall. Would have liked more than one packet of biscuits in our room with the tea and coffee facilities
