Liked: The hotel is literally attached to the Christ Church Gate of Canterbury Cathedral. Rod (Ron?) checked me in and was so kind as to offer me my choice of rooms. I stayed in Joy - aptly named because of the postcard-perfect view of the Cathedral immediately outside the window. The room has a full bathroom with a tub but no shower, which turned out to be a blessing for long soaks after full days of walking. The included continental breakfast is excellent, served in a room overlooking the square. Another review described the room layout at higgledy piggledy and that is spot on and part of this wonderful property's charm!
Disliked: I loved everything! One detail to know about, there are a lot of stairs and very tight staircases. The staff handles your luggage!

Liked: Staff were friendly and exceptionally helpful - certainly felt like a valued guest. Breakfast was fantastic and plenty of it - nothing too much trouble. Great communal areas so didn’t have to sit in your room all the time. Bar a great bonus - could have a relaxing drink before and after going out. Parking quite close and reduced parking cost through hotel
Disliked: Our room was on the pedestrian walkway - noise of pedestrians was ok - expect that - but the street light was right outside our window and lit up the room over top of curtains which resulted in a slightly disturbed sleep - waking up thinking it was daylight -suggest black out blind on the window which would stop light coming over curtains possibly
