2 Star hotel posing as...

Liked: I'd say the only good thing about this hotel is the location...and the location wasn't even the best. I guess the other good thing was that they had hotel parking near the hotel. That's all of the good.
Disliked: This is AT BEST a 2star hotel. The staff seemed mostly disinterested, the room was big (too big), but the floors were filthy. The furniture was all 2nd hand cheap/flimsy. Ikea furniture would have been a huge step up from what they had in there. Frankly it was shocking. The bed was flimsy and slid around on the floor everytime you sat on it. This was a no repeat hotel. Looks nice on the outside though.

Liked: Superb setting in a quiet square.
Disliked: The room was bland and characterless. No complementary water provided, unlike the five other hotels we have stayed in in Spain. Laundry charges excessive. 7 Euros for a shirt?!Being charged more on checking out, having settled our account the night before. Someone had made a mistake.

Liked: Very helpful staff. Good safe parking. Comfortable bed everything very clean.
Disliked: We were kindly upgraded but in this room, if you wanted to watch TV, which was badly positioned, you had to sit on the bed, rather than the sofa and armchairs.

Liked: Location and the views from our room were excellent.
Disliked: Bedroom was large enough with great views, but furniture not great. The bathroom was basic, poorly decorated with old fashioned toilet, and very uninviting. Mean amenities - one tiny soap, two small sachets of shampoo, no shower gel, and only sufficient for one guest in a double accommodation room. Supplying two bottles of water with a charge of 2 euros each! - a 4* star hotel would normally offer water complimentary. Only two pods of coffee, no milk, and presentation poor. No English TV - not even BBC or Sky news! WiFi on and off. Corridors leading to bedrooms were bare and reminded us of an office block, floors needed attention with chipped steps. We decided not to have breakfast as it looked extremely poor - so we opted to have coffee and toast, in the adjoining room, (they had run out of croissants). In our opinion, this hotel does not deserve a 4* rating from booking.com Before we arrived I kept getting messages from the hotel that I needed to confirm my reservation, even though booking.com had confirmed and payment had been taken. I was worried it was a scam, so I questioned it, the hotel said I should ignore the messages that it was spam (not a scam) - but it worried me as I didn't want to arrive to a problem, so was it just inefficiency?
