Agatha W, Preston, visiting The Blues Kitchen Manchester Manchester Thu, 25 May 2023

Very nice place to stay. Centrally located to nightlife and the many restaurants around. From the train station google directed us towards the canal - it's a lovely scenic walk but if you have a suitcase the cobbled areas make it difficult and then there are two sets of steps to get to the hotel. Alternatively, come out of the station and turn right, cross at the crossing opposite the Hilton, and that road is Liverpool Rd, continue down, and the hotel will be on the left. The staff are very welcoming, thanks to Thea for making it even better. The staff are very accommodating to your needs. Thanks also to Maria, who served us behind the bar. Our room was immaculate. We were on the street side, which can be noisy, but the double glazed windows helped. Although we slept with the windows open, it was fine for us. We were able to use the Y Club with gym, full-length swimming pool, steam, and sauna rooms free of charge. You need a £ coin for the lockers, and towels are provided. Overall, we had a wonderful two night stay and will definitely be returning. In addition, the hotel is charity run, so anything you buy goes towards helping the community youths, which is an added bonus.

Liked: Location.
Disliked: Better vegan options.

Lovely.. Shame phone / internet...

Liked: Location was perfect, staff very friendly and very good value for money..
Disliked: Couldn’t get the internet to work properly and phone signal from the room was non existent… Phone signal I appreciate isn’t necessarily the hotel’s fault but as I was there on business had to make trips out the hotel to make calls..

Stayed because of the location...

Liked: Good location, close to town, bars and restaurants. Great having access to decent pool and gym.
Disliked: They don’t service the rooms - stayed 3 nights and it wasn’t serviced once. They didn’t inform me of this at check in. Room keys kept needing to be reset, at least once a day. Walls are unbelievably thin - you will hear everything your neighbour says and does. Take earplugs. Sells itself as a hotel (with prices to match) but overall experience still feels like a youth hostel.
