Very nice place to stay. Centrally located to nightlife and the many restaurants around. From the train station google directed us towards the canal - it's a lovely scenic walk but if you have a suitcase the cobbled areas make it difficult and then there are two sets of steps to get to the hotel. Alternatively, come out of the station and turn right, cross at the crossing opposite the Hilton, and that road is Liverpool Rd, continue down, and the hotel will be on the left. The staff are very welcoming, thanks to Thea for making it even better. The staff are very accommodating to your needs. Thanks also to Maria, who served us behind the bar. Our room was immaculate. We were on the street side, which can be noisy, but the double glazed windows helped. Although we slept with the windows open, it was fine for us. We were able to use the Y Club with gym, full-length swimming pool, steam, and sauna rooms free of charge. You need a £ coin for the lockers, and towels are provided. Overall, we had a wonderful two night stay and will definitely be returning. In addition, the hotel is charity run, so anything you buy goes towards helping the community youths, which is an added bonus.
Liked: Location.
Disliked: Better vegan options.

Weekend Break
Liked: The staff are always lovely and friendly. Allowed us to check in early, which is a bonus. Convenient parking. Enjoyed freshly cooked breakfast. Feel this is better than buffet breakfast. Lovely location by the canal. Excellent location to all amenities. Large room. Requested a room overlooking the canal and we were given this, which was lovely. Comfortable nights sleep.
Disliked: We stayed in Room 212. For myself the room could have been warmer. The radiator was on full but not very hot. It is a large room and no radiator or towel rail in the bathroom either. I realise the hotel had been flooded during the Christmas period and had affected the lifts and the leisure centre. This did not affect our stay.

Fine, but not as advertised
Liked: It was in a good location. Front of house was nice.
Disliked: We booked the hotel for the pool however following flooding it was closed. Whilst I appreciate this couldn’t be helped it happened two weeks prior and we weren’t warned despite being messaged in advance. If we were we would have cancelled so felt slightly dishonest. The hotel was also much cheaper the day of the booking, likely because the pool was out of action so again felt slightly cheated. Hotel room was very dated and cold, and it wasn’t that clean in the bathroom.

Excellent customer service and great...
Liked: Close proximity to the city centre . Excellent staff.
Disliked: No problem with the property, just noisy residents returning at 2pm slamming doors - but that’s not the hotels fault.
