underwhelming and disappointing for the...

Liked: Service wise staff were super friendly and accommodating. It was great that we were given a variety of towels and a couple of beach chairs. laundry services were also handy. Unit 400 had amazing aircon and a full kitchen which is what we were after for both rooms.
Disliked: Both rooms shared several problems, most notably the lack of ventilation and poor lighting. Unit 400 had a very strong damp smell. The uncomfortable beds in both units and stained, possibly mouldy towels were consistent across both spaces. Unit 402 has a broken bed frame and the bed is a cheap spring model. There were also no effective noise reduction measures and the curtains did not block out any light, making it difficult to get a peaceful rest. The lack of proper security, especially in Unit 402 with the broken balcony lock and that anyone can enter any floor added to the feeling of insecurity, which was unsettling. The storage bag room was also unsecured and anyone could walk in and out. Additionally, the room descriptions were misleading, as neither unit lived up to expectations set by the photos or descriptions online.

Very good

Liked: You can not beat the price. The location is great. Price was lowest for Waikiki. Staff were very friendly. Roxi, the manager, was especially super friendly. AC works well. It was nice to have a microwave and a very small kitchenette. Our room was very easily accessible. Bottle openers, utensils, and plates were very helpful.
Disliked: Old fashioned small room. I stubbed my toe every night. Too many old furniture in a tiny room. Electric plugs are just barely adequate; I had to choose between my CPAP and the light fixture on my side. It was a squeeze fit me to get to my side of the bed. The Sink was tiny. The shower was very small. I could barely fit in it. Sound of trash pickup every early morning at about 4 am. I had to ask for shampoo and body cleaners. Nothing was cleaned until we left.

Expensive and Close but not...

Liked: I liked the location it was super close to Waikiki beach and I liked the A/C in our room it was nice and strong. I also liked the fact that the tv was super close to the bed.
Disliked: I didn't like the fact that they charge for a cleaning fee when the rooms aren't even cleaned everyday they are only clean when you check out. This place is wayy to expensive for what it is you pay so much in fees its not worth it. I didnt like the fact that you have to pay for parking every night I have been to the other Hawaiian islands before and I have never had to pay for parking at any of the other resorts and hotels I have been to. Not a good look trying to Nickle and dime you when you’re already in a expensive area.

Disappointing

Disliked: First, I requested an early check in, but it was ignored and didn't get to the hotel staff, 2nd the room wasn't what I requsted, it was very small and not worth the $2,173. Price. The room was oudated. Also, no room service to come in every other day to change the towels and take out the trash. I had to do that myself. The water was shut off in the building with not much warning. Also, no notification that next door to my room there was construction going on which was very loud. There was a foul smell down the hall on the 5th floor where my room was. I was there to take my friends ashes to scatter at sea and this bad experience at the Waikiki Grand added to the stress and sadness that I was experiencing. Next time I make a trip, it will not include the Waikiki Grand, where I have been staying dlto celebrate my birthday over the last 25 years.
